Honors Music!

The Mustang choir and band students participated in the North Central Honor Band and Choir in Shelby this week. They were joined by other students from school districts in the north central area to perform. Membership to the two groups was an audition-based process that allows the best music students to represent the school. The ensembles will rehearsed for one and a half days with guest directors before performing a concert on Tuesday evening. We really appreciate the hard work our band and choir teachers have invested in our students this year to help them continue to excel at their musical endeavors.

Fair Share Opportunities

We love our parents and grandparents! As a family participation school, we appreciate the hours you commit to help keep our doors open and our overhead costs contained. One way we do this is through Fair Share.

We are 1/2 way through our sport seasons and the bulk of our opportunities for fulfilling Fair Share hours are met through volunteering to help with our athletic events. You can contact Angie Hill at ahill@greatfallscentral.org. Here is a run-down of what will be available: basketball, concessions, Ball-required 5 hours, few opportunities for track, few opportunities for our Central fundraiser in April, a few opportunities a graduation.

We want you to be here invested in YOUR school, but if you can't do that, the payout for Fair Share is $750 for the year. We hope you will find some time to spend an hour or two with the kids at an event instead. We enjoy seeing you, but they love knowing you are here.

Warm your mouth and hands at the CHRISTMAS STROLL!

Please stop by and grab a hot beverage and visit with your favorite DECA students at the Christmas Stroll Friday night. They will have the HeBrews coffee cart right next to the Special Olympics Polar Plunge registration near UPTOWN at Four Ten. The students are raising money for their DECA competition trip in February. Special thanks to Jason Madill for the location and transport and the Mustangs Wrestling Team for loading and unloading the cart! The students are working shifts, so be sure to drop back several times to see your favorites.

Making a difference-Changing the world

Our students serve 20 hours a year in our community in a variety of ways. This season we have students out ringing the bell for the Salvation Army, among other things. Soon we will have students visiting Grandview Assisted Living making gingerbread houses with the residents. If you know of an opportunity for students to make a difference in our city, please contact Deacon Bob and let him know.

Jamie Stevens-Athletic Director Extraordinaire

While our Mustangs didn't make it to the final game, our AD was invited by MHSA to come to Billings to set up the field at Rocky Mountain College for the 8-man football championship game. Big thanks to Pacific Steel and Recycling in Great Falls for delivering the goalpost to Billings for the 8-player football championship game. For a tiny little school, we pack a big punch! Next year, Mustangs, we will take our goalpost and AD behind our bus.

Snowplowing reminders

We have contracted with the Diocese to plow our lot at 6:00 AM when we have 4" or more of snowfall. All cars need to be removed from the lots every night to avoid being damaged by the plow in the dark while it is being plowed. GFCC will not be responsible for damage to vehicles left in our lots. Students may not leave cars in lots overnight without permission of administration and a specific parking location.
