IMPORTANT TO DO
Expect Great Things!
Please take the time to teach the behavior expectations for each area of the school. Use the PBIS resources (linked here) to have access to the Expectations Matrix and other lesson resources. In addition, this link is for the Recess Handbook. Please teach expectations and review rules for safe and fun play on the playground.
Setup Your Account to New Perspectives
Our District has purchased a New Perspectives Online: personalized professional support system membership which you can now use to support your implementation of Contexts for Learning Mathematics. This is a fully online 24/7 system, which includes scores of videos of classrooms implementing the Units as well as samples of student work, videos of the authors sharing insights, and online interactive activities that you can complete and share with others in the New Perspectives Online social network if you wish.
To get started with this new resource, please click here:

IMPORTANT TO KNOW
Gen. Ed. Classroom Teachers assigned to all SCC students
This year the Special Education Department has required all students in self-contained programs to be assigned a general education teacher and have a desk available in the general education classroom. In addition, Erin and Amy have to write inclusion plans for each one of their student. Most students have yet to develop the skills needed to mainstream, however, goal setting and planning are required. Amy and Erin will contact you about their students who will be assigned to you. You will also be the gen. ed. teacher assigned to attend IEP meetings.
Lift
We were reminded today by a BSD facilities person that the lift is only to be used for human cargo who need it for a legitimate reason. It is never to be used for other purposes.
Orange Buckets
You have received orange buckets in your classroom for emergency situations that may occur. There is a district label on the bucket referring to the items inside, however we have added to these items with the note attached to the bucket. These buckets are to be taken outside on all drills. There is a large red/green envelope inside with your students emergency contacts, class lists, bucket instructions, permission from parents in case of early release, rally point evacuation plan, and
Staff Room
Sign up in the staff room for a week of duty, please!
No Dogs on Campus
The Deputy Superintended of Facilities sent and email out earlier this week about dogs accompanying staff members to school this week. It was a reminder that dogs are not allowed on district property.
Kudos
Krasi cannot be thanked enough for her work on the schedule this summer. You are greatly appreciated Krasi!SCHOOL NEWS
All of our exterior doors are armed after hours and on the weekend. An alarm goes off and police arrive if you enter the building and do not have security clearance to deactivate the alarm. We are also charged $$ for every false alarm. Please make request through Peggy 24 hours in advance. The request has to go through our security department and Kalay to be approved.
