RNNE Team and Family Launcher
Goal-oriented and intentional.Intervention.Authentic Team.
Maladjusted.
It's been so awesome to see the ways you have all gone "all in" to double down hard on student gaps so that we can maximize our instructional time with our Rocketeers.
I've seen amazing math workstation focus areas included in lesson plans, bottom-line aligned literacy workstations, teachers being solutions-oriented and problem-solving together around ways to propel our Rocketeers forward and school leaders becoming more focused in their observations and their trend analysis to help support teacher development.
This all evidence of our team truly being maladjusted to the statistic that only 17% of our students can read proficiently and only 26% of them are proficient in math. We are committed to being maladjusted to these statistics and are dedicated to make our last push of the school year our best part of the school year so far.

Progress Reports
We will set aside 2:15-3:30pm next Thursday for all grade levels to have time to begin printing progress reports and align as a grade level. We will have a hard stop at 3:30pm because the President of the Rocketship Board of Directors will be here to provide a session on parent/family engagement to both RNNE and RUA teachers. You can certainly begin printing progress reports earlier that day, but we wanted to set aside a time block for you all as well.
For students who are struggling in a particular area (students not showing adequate growth, students reversing in their growth, high absence/tardies, behavior, etc.), it would be effective to hold a parent teacher conference to meet face-to-face with parents/families. Maximize this opportunity to problem-solve with families.
Spring Dinner
See the calendar invite (with the address of the location included) that April sent out yesterday.
Please RSVP so that you can be included in the reservation count. I'd love for our full staff to be in attendance.
Real Men Read
Our goal is to have 75 men volunteer to come in to our classrooms and spend the morning (about an hour) reading to and with our students. The more men that we have, the smaller the groups can be in classrooms which means more direct contact with our volunteers who will be representing a diversity in background, experiences and careers.
This will be an exciting day! As we get closer to the event, you'll receive more details from our Staff Communication arm of the planning committee (Ms. Barr and Ms. Bing) on specific details for classrooms.
How can I help out with this event? So glad you asked! We would love for you to spread the word to any males in your personal and professional networks to have them commit to being one of our readers! We want them here with us on May 27th! Please see the flyer, created by Ms. Barr, below for details to share with your male connections. We want them all - your father, brother, uncle, friend, male church members, fraternities, businesses, groups, etc!
We want to actualize our goal of having 75 amazing male volunteers in our building on this day!
If you'd like to join the planning committee for this event, please plan to join us in our next meeting on April 21st (4:30-5:30p) in room 212.
