to divide 2.4 and .3 you have to do this. First you move the decimal in .3 so it reads 3. Next you move the decimal the same amount of places right in the other number. Then you move the decimal up on top of where the decimal is in the dividend. Fourth you just do long division. Finally, you should get the answer 8.0 or 8.

To multiply decimals you have to do this. First, you have to have a problem. Next you just write it out without the decimal. Third, you just multiply like usually. Finally you count the decimals behind each number then you add the decimals behind it and you put it that much in front of your answer from the end.
