From the Principal...
Dear Seton Community,
Thank you for all you are doing to keep our students, families, and staff safe. Please continue to monitor your child for any symptoms of COVID and keep him or her home if sick. This helps to keep our whole community healthy.
As we begin October, the month of the Rosary, I am asking that you keep our amazing teachers in your prayers. As you know, they are working under more stressful circumstances than usual with changes to schedules and routines due to the health crisis. What you may not know is that they are also working hard on a lot of new things this year.
Not only have we switched to standards based assessment and grading (see below), but we are also doing more data tracking than we have in the past. This new way of thinking about assessments creates different workloads, more communication with families, and new ways of structuring classroom instruction. We are also working with new programs: SWIVL, one to one technology, enrichment, and special education. These things are amazing benefits to our students and add to the educational opportunities we are able to provide, but they take extra work for our already hard-working staff.
All of this is placed on their shoulders each day in addition to caring for their own families and friends during the pandemic. I know that they are amazing and love what they do. Yet, the load can get hard to bare. Please pray for continued strength and joy as we move forward.
Thank you again for your patience and positivity as we move through this challenging school year. We continue to pray for the health and safety of all of our Seton families. St. Elizabeth Ann Seton, pray for us.
Sincerely,
Dr. Stephanie Nardi, Principal
Thank You and Please Remember...
I am happy to report that we are still doing well under the current health crisis. Thank you for your patience and for your consideration for our school community.
I want to send out a couple of quick reminders as COVID numbers in the state continue to rise.
- If a member of your household has symptoms or is being tested for COVID, do not send any of the household children to school until that family member has been cleared. The children may attend virtually.
- If your child is required to isolate due to symptoms, Seton School does not require a COVID test for his/her return. We require a note or email from the child's physician that clears the child for return to school. Please do not call your physician stating that school needs a test.
- Please understand that Seton School is regulated by laws that prohibit us from sharing the personal medical information of any staff or students. If there is any exposure or positive cases at Seton School, you will receive notification. Do not call or message asking about the medical status of staff or students.
- Masks are required daily. Please be sure that your child comes prepared to school with a clean and well-fitting mask each day. We are seeing many more students with masks that fall off or with no mask at all. Staying safe and healthy is a team effort.
Thank you for helping us stay safe, healthy, and open. Please let Dr. Nardi know if you have questions regarding any of the reminders above. Have a wonderful day.
