.......Can I help you......
Beyond Packets: The Art of Online Teaching and Remote Learning in P-12
Yesterday at 2 pm I had a zoom meeting with my department chair, he sent me text message me earlier in the day that said......"Fasten your seatbelt. Your life is about to change."
He was not kidding! Here’s the deal, we know CONTINUOUS LEARNING / REMOTE TEACHING began for K-12 teachers in March 2020 and has mostly been by the seat of our pants. RIGHT?
But we want to give you the chance to get Beyond Packets and learn The Art of Online Teaching and Remote Learning in P-12.
When you create your digital online classroom, you are setting up your curriculum, and lets face it, you already know your curriculum, you just need to know how to present it in a different way, in an engaging way and digitally to your students (and parents).
It is a different way to teach and a different way to learn, no doubt. We have to move students (and parents) into this transformation. This, of course, means thinking outside the box.
We (Kansas State College of Education) are here to help. This summer we will be offering a BUNDLE of 3 online class workshops, Beyond Packets: The Art of Online Teaching and Remote Learning in P-12. It will be possible to earn 9 hours of credit at a much lower tuition price. I don't have the amount yet, but will shortly, so stay tuned.
The 3 online class workshops will be continuous in June & July and you will finish with 9 hours of credit. It is a bundle so all 3 are taken for one price. The hours will be considered graduate and eligible for use toward pay scale advancement and/or re-licensure, subject to state and district regulations and negotiated agreements.
Even if we are back to school as usual by the fall, everything in these courses will be beneficial in your classroom. Teachers are always looking for strategies to engage their students and enhance their learning. You will be introduced to many tools that will do just that in this class bundle.
We are still in the planning stsges but more information will be coming shortly, so stay tuned. I just wanted to start you to thinking about this possiblies.

Recently, my day has begun to involve a little hidden gem that most teachers don’t know about yet.
It’s a place where I connect with other teachers online via quick videos and sometimes even simple text comments. It’s become such a highlight of my day to see faces from Switzerland and Australia and to hear their struggle. The best part is that these conversations are not public-facing like Instagram and Twitter and are limited to three minutes – which is about all the time I can spare these days.
