Principal Update
4/28/23
Dear LP Families,
Happy Friday!
I think Ms. Kimber's face says it all! We had a great time serving ice cream to our families last night at I-Square. Special thanks to Mr. Savine, Mrs. Antonelli, and Ms. Kimber for being our celebrity scoopers! Also, thank you to our amazing PTA board for organizing this fundraiser. It was a new experience and one we enjoyed very much. Finally, thank you to our families who supported us last night and enjoyed some ice cream. We even spotted our own Superintendent, Mrs. Grow and her husband, Mr. Grow sipping on some milkshakes! We really do have the best support system.
Moving forward, we have our NYS Math test coming up on 5/3 and 5/4. While the ELA test went very well, it was a good reminder of the importance of students coming to school on time with a charged iPad. Thank you in advance for helping your student come to school prepared!
Last but not least, May is practically here and it is time to start thinking about classroom placements for next year. As your child's expert and advocate, I would like to welcome any thoughts you have on the best placement for next year. While it is not possible to request a specific teacher, it is important to describe the best learning environment and teacher characteristics that allow your child the most success in school. Please feel free to email me your thoughts by Friday, May 19th. Here is my email address for your reference:

One more time!
Capital Improvements Projects Are Underway!
For now though, one of our projects needs to start early if we are to finish on time. Our gymnasium will be receiving a new air handling unit. In order to do this work, we have to partition off half of the gym. To start, we will focus on the right side of the gym. This work will begin over February break and will take several weeks. Once the right side is complete, construction will move to the left side of the gym.
What does this mean for our students and you?!
Students will only use the left side of the gym for now. We are hoping for some great weather so we can get students outside as much as possible!
Pick-up and Drop-off changes: The location of the gym door students enter is the only thing that will need to change for this procedure. Instead of driving up to the current gym door on the right side of the gym, we will have you continue forward (towards Norton St.) until you get to the second gym door, located on the left side of the building. We will have signs and staff to help with this transition. This change will take effect Monday, February 27th. We appreciate your flexibility as we navigate this new construction.
