Students should still register for a full year of EVHS classes for the 2021-2022 school year even if they plan on taking PSEO classes. The MN State Department of Education deadline for notifying EHS about your intention to participate in PSEO is May 30th.
Virtual College Exploration for all Minnesota Students
March 9th – 11th

We are excited to announce Minnesota’s Virtual College Exploration for ALL Minnesota high school students. Please help us spread the word about this fantastic opportunity. There are 20 panel presentations on popular topics and several 6x6 information sessions involving over 150 colleges from 29 states and 3 countries. Students from across the state can learn about colleges, the application process, and financial aid.

Below are links to the two Scott Highlands scholarship applications available to graduating seniors who were SHMS attendees. All scholarships should be submitted on or before Friday, March 19th.

3. Scholarship for females in leadership:
Please help us spread the word about the Dakota County Regional Chamber of Commerce's Charitable Foundation, awarding five - $1000 scholarships to female students in Dakota County at the 2021 WomEn's Leadership Forum. More information at:

4. Scholarship for students that attended Cedar Park Elementary:
The Parent Teacher Organization of Cedar Park Elementary STEM School is sponsoring a one-time $750 college scholarship. Two students will be awarded the scholarship for the 2021 – 2022 school year. The intent of the one-time scholarships is to aid in the continuing education of students who have attended Cedar Park Elementary STEM School. Scholarship is here.
Scholarship Criteria:
• The candidate must have attended Cedar Park Elementary STEM School for a minimum of three years.
• The candidate must be a graduating senior.
• The candidate must currently have a 2.75 GPA average or better.
• The candidate must continue their education at an accredited university, junior college, or vocational school for the 2021 – 2022 school year.
• The candidate must achieve a 2.75 GPA average or better during the first semester/quarter of post-secondary education (Fall 2021) to obtain the scholarship.
• The candidate must fill out the application form completely by April 1st, 2021. Send an email to cedarparkpto@gmail.com with any questions.5. (NEW) Scholarship for Leadership in District 196:
Each Spring, one young man and one young woman receives a $1,500 scholarship to help with the cost of their post-high school education. Graduating seniors from Apple Valley, Eastview, Farmington, Lakeville North, Lakeville South, Northfield and Rosemount High Schools are eligible to apply.
How to Apply:
Submit a Leadership Résumé detailing your leadership accomplishments and a Leadership Essay (500-word maximum) on the topics: what it takes to be an outstanding leader and why impactful leadership is important to you.
Deadline: April 15
Email your Leadership Résumé and Leadership Essay in Microsoft Word format to Dave Oswald at: dcoswald@cbburnet.com.
Selection Process:
A review committee of eight community and education leaders – four men and four women – will select the winners. On June 1st, Dave will announce the winners and award each Dave Oswald Homes Scholarship.

Beginning Feb. 17, District 196 Community Education is sponsoring a free webinar series called Parenting in a Pandemic. This series consists of the following five webinars, all of which will begin at 6 p.m. Interpreters may be available if requested.

Youth Mental Health First Aid FREE Virtual Trainings
M Health Fairview Youth Mental Health First Aid is designed to teach parents, family members, caregivers, teachers, school staff, peers, neighbors, health and human services workers, and other caring citizens how to help an adolescent (age 12-18) who is experiencing a mental health or addictions challenge, or is in crisis.
The course introduces common mental health challenges for youth, reviews typical adolescent development, and teaches a 5-step action plan for how to help young people in both crisis and non-crisis situations. Topics covered include anxiety, depression, substance use, disorders in which psychosis may occur, disruptive behavior disorders (including AD/HD), and eating disorders.
