Morning Carloop Changes effective - March 7th
We are making some Morning drop-off procedure changes starting on Thursday, March 7. We have been working with Frisco PD to assess the morning drop-off procedures and see how we can make it more efficient for parents and Hunt.
The problems we see from our perspective:
Issues:
- cars blocking driveway into the front bus loop and for staff and subs to park
- cars not utilizing the entire curb for drop-off and waiting to drop-off in front of doors
- kids not prepared to exit vehicle quickly
- parents pulling past line and dropping off in front of dumpsters
- Legendary is congested
- drop-off in bus loop
Solution:
- We will be moving the drop-off location to the back of the school where students will enter through the back of school doors/GYM entrance. This will allow an additional 20-25 cars onto school property and the drop-off curb area is extended which allows for more students to exit vehicles at the same time.
- Students that ride buses will enter the building through the front entrance
- Front loop is for Bus drop off only, staff parking, and parent who are entering the school building. Students caught being dropped off in bus loop will be assigned detention for not following directions.
- We have ordered yellow cones to place along the curbside where kids EXIT vehicles.
Remember:
- There is still only one lane for drop-off and the second lane is for staff only.
- Drop-Off times are still 7:30-8:20
- No parking in parking lot to let kids out of cars. Kids can only be dropped curbside
- Stonebriar Church allows drop-off in their parking lot so that is allowed at your own risk
- No drop off at the Montessori school next door.
- No drop-off in the front of the school
- The second lane is for staff only or parents who have already dropped off their kids and pulling out.
- Do NOT block driveways to and from school.
National Breakfast Week
“Studies show that students who eat breakfast have better attendance, perform better on tests, and show better concentration, alertness, comprehension, memory, and learning than students who skip breakfast. We invite all students to jump start their day with a healthy breakfast from our café, served daily from 7:30 am to 8:20 am. Students can purchase a balanced breakfast for $1.50. Students qualifying for free or reduced price lunches also qualify for free or reduced price breakfast. Hunt MS Child Nutrition is celebrating National School Breakfast Week March 5-9, and invite all students to pick up a free pancake breakfast on March 9th. You don’t want to miss this special treat!”

FISD and PTA Present SCREENAGERS Documentary - TONIGHT
Frisco ISD, in partnership with the Frisco ISD Council of PTAs, is hosting a screening of the award-winning documentary Screenagers on the evening of February 27. Parents, staff and students (aged 10 and older) are welcome. FISD staff can earn professional learning hours by signing up through Eduphoria. This documentary is designed to help parents learn how to balance their children’s screen time in a tech-filled world. Delaney Ruston, a physician and social change documentary filmmaker, made the film after becoming concerned about her own family and the digital world. The documentary reveals how tech time impacts kids’ development and offers solutions on how adults can empower kids to best navigate the digital world and find balance.
