Wildcat Fall Sports Update
Waldo Flag Football finished their first season with one win and six loses. Keep up the great work, Coach Adams! We are looking forward to next season. The Waldo Flag Football team players are: Kevin Almaraz, Marco Almaraz, Enrique Barraza, Bryan Barrios, Eric Bausch, Antonio Bonilla, William Castro, Emmanuel Diaz, Bernard Fellowes, Javion Greene, Brian Hamilton, Gabriel Hernandez, Christopher Johnson, Jeremiah Lackings, Malaki Lopez, Sam Lopez, Jesus Martos, Marcel Nkunde, Joaquin Ramirez, Joel Rivera, Adrian Sanchez, Frederick Scott, Diego Soto, Jaiyon Spivey, Alvaro Tavizon, Diego Vazquez, Aedan Weiss, Carlton Young, and JaCarian Young.
The Waldo Boy's Soccer team had another fabulous season as well. The team ended the year with 12 wins and no losses! They also brought home 3rd place over all in the City of Lights Tournament. Fantastic season, Coach Benevides, Olsen, and Jones! We cannot wait to see what Girls' Soccer has in store for Waldo this year. The Waldo Boy's Soccer players are: Martin Acuahitl, Alejandro Aguilar, Xavier Alvarez, Yonaton Araiza, Hector Arevalo, Christian Cardoza. Victor Casas, Cesar Diaz, Jose Garcia, Jovanni Guerrero, Cristian Ibarra, Jaime Jaime, Alex Martinez, Issac Sanchez, Adrian Silva, Jimmy Tirado, and Jaime Valtierrez.
Waldo's 6th and 7th Volleyball team finished another great season with a 4-6 record with wins over Moosehart, Magnet, and two wins over Cowherd. Way to go, Coach Morrisey. The Waldo 6th and 7th Volleyball team members are: Vanessa Bausch, Julisa, Borjon, Nancy, Carbajal, Jaselene Cardenas, Jazmyne Carrillo, Yolanda Castillo, Jazlyn Cuttie, Kimberly Gamboa, Monse Garcia, Guadalupe Guerrero, Mya Handley, Caritza Hernandez, Jordan Hodges, Aliana Jackson, Kaitlyn Kavalauskas, Mya Lamas, Kimberly Leon, Marisol Marillo, Zuleyma Martinez, Rosa Munoz, Arial Patino, Samia Sida, and Jahayra Velasquez.
Finally, the Waldo Cross Country team had the opportunity to run with and compete against Magnet Academy, Simmons, Cowherd, Jefferson, Herget, Washington, Jewel and Washington Middle Schools. Students who participated in every day of cross country ran approximately 60 miles over our 8 week season! Please congratulate our 8th grade runners on their journey over to East Aurora High School as they will soon become Tomcats. These runners include; Susanna Martinez, Isabella Huerta, Marck Jimenez, Abraham Gonzalez and Omar Escobedo. What an outstanding season, Coach Kopke and Coach Laciura.
Interested in joining a Waldo sport? It is not too late! The upcoming seasons are: wrestling, boy's basketball, girl's basketball, girl's soccer, and track.
Join Newspaper Club
Come join Waldo's Newspaper Club. We will meet after school on Tuesdays in room 219 from 2:45 PM to 4:00 PM to create Waldo's online newspaper. All students are welcome to join. Email Mrs. Boyce at sboyce@d131.org for more info.
