TRAVIS MIDDLE SCHOOL 2020-2021 Parent and Family Engagement Policy

Mission:

At Travis, we will ensure that every student learns at high levels and grows academically and socially in a safe environment to become critical thinkers.

Our Vision:

At Travis, we envision a school in which staff personally commits to:

  • Working in positive and interdependent collaborative teams

  • Seeking and delivering high impact instructional strategies for improving student learning

  • Effectively monitoring each student’s progress frequently

Travis Middle School recognizes that a child’s education is a duty that is shared by the school and family. In order for our children to succeed, it is vital for all stakeholders to work together in a partnership.

An annual meeting will be held to inform parents of the school’s participation in Title I, to explain the Title I requirements, and the right of parents to be involved. Travis Middle School will invite all parents and will encourage them to attend.

The Annual Title I Meeting for the 2021-2022 school year will be held on:

  • Wednesday, October 20, 2020

Parents will be involved in the planning, review, and improvement of the school’s parental involvement policy and in the development of our school-wide program in an organized, positive, and ongoing way.

  • Volunteers will serve on the Campus Improvement Committee (CIC) and Parent Advisory Committee (PAC).

  • The CIC and PAC will meet 6 times a year to address campus needs as they relate to the school-wide plan and the Parental Involvement Policy.

  • Parents will be given the opportunity to comment on the school-wide plan and Parental Involvement Policy when they are made public to the community.

  • An annual review, evaluation, and revision of the Parental Involvement Policy and school-wide plan will occur in the spring semester and will include parents through surveys as well as the CIC.
