Homecoming Donations
Dear Shark Families,
It’s almost time for Homecoming! We are so excited for the dance this year. The date is Saturday, October 8th. ASB and PTSA are working daily to create an awesome and memorable Homecoming, and we need YOUR help to make this event a huge success!
SNACKS - We are seeking Shark Family donations of individually packaged snacks. Popular snacks in the past have been small bags of chips, candy bars, cookies, etc. We welcome other snacks too, as long as they are individually packaged.
DRINKS - We will also need drinks drinks drinks donated! Sodas of all kinds and bottled waters. Make that A LOT of bottled waters!
Items will be sold for $1 each to help raise funds for Senior Scholarships.
***If you have large ice chests or tubs that you can let us borrow for the evening, please be sure to write your name and phone number on them before dropping them off at the school.
Donations can be dropped off at the front office during school hours from Monday, Sept. 26th – Thursday, Oct. 6th. If it’s easier for you to order online (such as Amazon or other places that deliver), the items can be delivered directly to the high school by addressing the order to Santiago High School PTSA.
We are also in need of volunteers during the dance at our snack/drink table and coat check. Here is the link to volunteer:

2023 Santiago Baseball Tryout Information
All paperwork must be turned into ONLINE to the Santiago Athletic Dept. Oct. 14th
Information for players who wish to try out for the Santiago HS Baseball program.
- Tryout Dates: Nov.1st – Nov.3rd Tues. –Thurs. From 4:00- 5:30. Be on Time! Rain Make up day is Saturday Nov.5th at 10:00 am
- You must do the following before you can tryout: You must have your physical and athletic paperwork turned into the Athletic Director before you can tryout.
- You must attend tryout everyday. No Exceptions! If you are sick, you must call the school and leave a message for Coach De Trinidad. The coaches will have something for you to do everyday, even if it rains.
- What if you are still playing basketball, soccer, or wrestling?
You may miss the tryout period. As long as Coach De Trinidad has your name, you will be able to tryout when your season is over. Please communicate with Coach D.
5. Can I still play youth league ball etc.?
Yes, we encourage everyone to play in various youth leagues; however, you cannot play in another league until the high school season is over. (Unless in playoffs)
- Can a freshman play Varsity or Junior Varsity Baseball?
Yes, but it is the exception rather than the rule. We like to keep all freshmen on the frosh team and sophomores on the Junior Varsity if possible.
- Is the team picked before tryouts?
No! Everyone will have a fair chance to make the team. Remember attitude and grades are as important as baseball ability.
- Is my physical from football, basketball, and etc. good for my baseball season?
Yes, all physicals and paperwork, etc. is good for one year.

Regular season practice starts February 6, 2023, and continues through April 28th. You will have practice every day, Monday – Friday, some Saturdays will be required for all teams. You will be expected to be at every practice and game. Note: Many freshman games are on Saturdays except for tournaments. Please plan on being available during Spring Break.
We will have between 16-18 players on this year’s team. If you are interested in playing, we will see you at the tryouts on November 1, 2022.

- Care Solace is an online resource with a live 24x7 concierge line meant to assist individuals in finding local mental health-related programs and counseling services.
- To use Care Solace, individuals answer ten basic questions in order to receive an extensive list of referrals to applicable care providers. Care Solace takes into account all types of private insurance including Medi-Cal, Medicaid, and Medicare and those that have no insurance. The system also filters by age, gender, zip code, and special request.
- Care Solace is now available for use by CNUSD students, staff, and families at no cost. Please note, this service is an optional resource available by choice and is not mandatory in any way. Care Solace does not require a user’s name, address, phone number, or date of birth.
