What is Turner Syndrome ?
Turner Syndrome is a condition that affects girls development . The most common feature is short stature , which the parent will evidence that by the age of 5 . Most girls & women with Turner syndrome have normal intelligence such as a person without Turner syndrome .
Causes of the birth defect .
Turner syndrome is a chromosomal condition , females are supposed have two X chromosomes . The cause of Turner syndrome is because one of the two X chromosomes is either missing or incomplete .
Symptoms of the defect .
Puffy Legs , a webbed neck , short stature , swollen hands . Symptoms for older females ; dry eyes , drooping eyelids , incomplete development of puberty .
Tests & Diagnosis .
Karyotype is a blood analysis , that determines whether you have Turner syndrome or not .
Treatments of the defect .
There is no cure for Turner syndrome , but there is treatments that may reduce the symptoms . The 2 symptoms that can be treated are ; short stature & lack of ovarian development .
