World War I

The War to End All Wars

Woodrow Wilson

For a vast majority of WWI, Wilson wanted to keep the US out of the war, despite the fact that we were supplying both the Allies and the Central powers with food and supplies. However, once the Germans started sinking ships with US civilians on board, Wilson asked Congress to declare war. Once the US entered the war, it mainly provided support for the Allies, especially in helping take down the Germans in France. Once the war ended, Wilson proposed not only his Fourteen Points, but also the League of Nations.

Wilhelm II

Wilhelm II was the last Kaiser of Germany, as well as a close personal friend of Franz Ferdinand. After Ferdinand's assassination, Wilhelm II offered to support Austria-Hungary in retaliation against the terrorist group that assassinated Ferdinand, which was then believed to be based in Serbia. Once war broke out, Wilhelm II proved to be a completely ineffective leader, and once it became apparent that Germany would not win the war, he abdicated the throne and fled to the Netherlands.
