Many call this their favorite event of the year! For the past 17 years, this has been the celebration that brings our entire school community TOGETHER.


Here is a guide to activities and preparations for the day.


TO DO BEFORE MAY 11


1. COMMUNITY BREAKFAST -- Sign up to contribute time or food: http://www.signupgenius.com/go/30e094fadaa2fabfa7-breakfast


2. MINIMUM DAY -- After the morning event, teachers will be in planning meetings. There will be no classes. If you plan to take your child home early, click on the link and let us know. Please also note the Pick-up Procedure, below.

PARKING

Parent permits are valid on school curbs only. Lot 5, Level 4 -- across from the carpool area -- is available only until 9:30am. After that cars will be ticketed. Once the curbs fill up, parents will have to pay to park in Lot 4 or other nearby pay stalls. For more information on parking at UCLA, please visit:

EC – Upper I : White top & black bottom

Upper II : All black



MINIMUM DAY PICK-UP PROCEDURE


1. Get a Form and Sign Out

You are welcome to take your children out of school after the performance, but an Early Pick-Up Form must be completed. Forms will be available in classrooms on the day of the event.


2. Pick Up From the Right Location

- BEFORE 11:30 am -- your child's classroom

- AFTER 11:30 am -- front office


**NOTE: You MUST sign your child out, regardless of the time.**



ACTIVITIES FOR CHILDREN WHO STAY

Students who stay at school after the morning event will have a variety of fun activities to choose from and will attend a presentation by children's book author and illustrator Yuyi Morales. They will be supervised by our teaching assistants. There will be no classes, as teachers will be in planning meetings.



EDP

The Extended Day Program will operate on its regular schedule. Children who stay for the afternoon and are enrolled in EDP will go to their regular EDP location at their regularly scheduled time.



AUTHOR VISIT

As a special bonus, best-selling children's author and illustrator Yuyi Morales will be speaking at our school. She is scheduled to give two presentations.


1:30 - 2:05 - geared toward EC and Primary students

2:15 - 3:00 - geared toward Intermediate and Upper students


All students who stay for the afternoon will attend a presentation. Families taking their children out of school early are also invited to return to campus to attend one or both presentations. Any children who return to campus must be accompanied by an adult.\\
