Note from Dr. Bland
Happy New Year! I hope you all had a wonderful winter break!
We look forward to returning to in-person instruction on January 5th!
Students who are in our virtual classrooms will remain in their virtual classrooms.
We continue to look at our procedures to ensure that our school community is safe as we participate with in-person learning.
We are thrilled to have our school filled with children next week. Before you continue reading please watch this video about our pick-up and drop off procedures. You can also access the video in Spanish.
A few reminders:
- Please stay in your car during parent drop off to help the traffic flow
- Gaiter masks are not permitted in school
- Our first bell rings at 7:35 and at 7:50 school starts. Please drop off your students before 7:50. Paddock staff begin supervision at 7:35.
- During pick- up please have your child's name in passenger window
- Parents must wear a mask on school grounds (drop off/pick up)
- Parents need to wait for their children away from the exit doors. If you are walking to pick up a student by door 1 please wait by the little red library and if you are walking to pick up a student by door 12 please wait on the basketball courts.
Warm regards,
Dr. Bland

A word from Mrs. Pool, Paddock School Nurse
I hope you are staying safe and enjoying the Holiday season. I am looking forward to resuming in-person learning after Winter Break on Tuesday, January 5. In order for a smooth transition from virtual to in-person learning, please keep the following points in mind:
We ask that families who travel for the holidays voluntarily quarantine for two weeks (or revised quarantine lengths based upon IDPH guidance) upon returning home. Concurrent learning will be available to in-person students needing to stay home through Friday, January 15. After that date, concurrent instruction will only be available to in-person students who are in quarantine due to illness or exposure.
If you or any member of your household has symptoms or is sick, your entire household should stay home. Please reach out to your school nurse and refer to D15 website for return to school guidance.
Remember to send in any required immunization records, physical exam forms, medications, or physician’s notes to the nurse on the first day your child returns to in-person learning. All state mandated, grade level specific are required to be submitted to participate in in-person learning.
Sincerely,
Kathy Pool

IN-PERSON PROCEDURES
As we transition to in-person learning there are a few procedures that we would like our families to help with. Please remember to be patient and parents must remain in their cars.
MORNING ARRIVAL
CAR RIDERS
-Please have your child’s lanyard on and signed. Students need to have their lanyard signed for entrance into the school.
-Please pull all the way forward to allow for a continuous flow of cars.
-Parents will need to remain in their car when their student(s) exit the vehicle.
-Children need to be ready to exit the vehicle, with their backpack and lunch bag ready when you pull into the parking lot.
-Students must have their mask on when exiting the vehicle.
-All students will have their temperatures checked and will sanitize their hands upon entry.
-We ask that students remain an airplane arms length away from others.
BUS RIDERS
-Students riding the bus will have an assigned seat the entire year.
-Students must wear their mask on the bus.
-Students will have their temps taken prior to entering the building.
-Students will sanitize their hands prior to entering the building.
-Students must wear their lanyards and staff will ensure there is a parent signature on the card inside the lanyard.
DISMISSAL
-Students will begin dismissing at a staggered time to ensure social distancing.
-Students will load buses and sit in their assigned seats.
-Students that walk home or ride their bikes will be dismissed at 2:25.
-Parents will pull their cars up in the car line, and remain in their vehicle.
-Staff will be holding the QR code for you to scan.
-Parents will scan the QR code when they arrive to the parent pick-up area and fill out a google form on their device.
-Once students are safely loaded into the car, parents may pull-out of the car line safely.
If you have children that overlap with other grades pick one drop off/pick up location. We do not recommend that parents park their cars and walk their children to the school. If you must do this you need to wear a mask and please swiftly walk your child to a paw print and continue to walk to your car.
SAFE AND SECURE IN OUR “NEW NORMAL”: COVID-19 INFORMED BUS PROTOCOLS IN DISTRICT 15
District 15 put a video out about bus procedures that provides great information for parents. That video is linked HERE.
What’s new:
All buses are deep-cleaned nightly, with the same antiviral used inside the school buildings.
All touch surfaces on the buses are spot sanitized after each route, with the same antiviral used in the school buildings.
Driver and all bus riders MUST BE MASKED for the duration of the bus ride.
Rules for optimal airflow in the buses have been put in place.
Temperatures will be taken enroute, where possible, or at school before entering the building.
Bus capacity has been reduced to <45 passengers per bus, more stringent than state recommendations.
Seats have been assigned based on stop order (first students to board, walk all the way to the back) to minimize cross traffic and to maintain social distancing.
Siblings or members from the same household will be assigned to sit together on the bus.
Assigned seats will be strictly enforced by the driver.
Eating/drinking on the bus is PROHIBITED.
How students are expected to ride:
On the way to school:
Know your pickup time and route number.
WEAR YOUR MASK: if a student is at the stop without a mask, a disposable mask will be provided and school contacted with student’s name.
Be at your pickup location 5 minutes ahead of time.
At large stops: line up in grade order, big kids first, siblings together.
Wait until the bus stops before approaching the door.
Board quickly and quietly.
Go immediately to your assigned seat.
Keep your backpack on your lap.
Stay in your seat, out of the aisle.
NO EATING OR DRINKING ON THE BUS.
Temperatures will be taken enroute, where possible, or at school before entering the building.
At school, stay seated until the driver dismisses you.
Enter school quickly and quietly through assigned door.
On the way home:
