Next Year's School Calendar
Giving thanks for the power to plan ahead! Next year's school calendar was recently approved by the Board of Education. You can see it by clicking below. As always, this can be subject to change and we will notify you if it does. Here are some dates of note:
The 109 Gives Back Holiday Gift Drive Is Underway!
Boxes have been placed in the lobbies of all 6 schools as we spread the holiday magic around DPS 109. We are coming together for the third year as a district for this drive benefiting Deerfield families to ensure that every child has a great holiday season!
Remember: you can drop off gifts starting on Monday 11/28 at each school. The LAST day to drop off is on Friday 12/9.

What's Good in 109: Shopping With Your Teacher, Growing Gratitude, and Honoring Our Veterans
We like to share What's Good in 109 in every newsletter, at every board meeting, and on social media as much as possible. Check out some of the latest good things below.
4th graders in Mrs. Cacioppo's class recently got the chance to hang out with their teacher... at the supermarket! At the annual "Shop with Mrs. C" event, the class bought food and supplies to donate to the food pantry. Great job, 4th graders!
1st graders at Walden also showed their gratitude through an artsy classroom project. Check out this interview with Ellie and Perry, and the special way we got the Board of Education and administration involved!

Upcoming: PPS Event on 12/6
Please join us on Tuesday, December 6 at 6:00 pm for our next PPS109 in-person networking/workshop opportunity. No sign-up ahead of time is needed.
PPS109 is a partnership of DPS 109 administrators, teachers and parents/guardians who provide education and support to families of children with a wide range of needs. Our next event of the ‘22-’23 school year will focus on practical executive functioning strategies to implement with your children. This event will take place on Tuesday, Dec. 6 at 6:00 pm in the Shepard Middle School LMC. We hope to see you there!
