Lunch Visitors
Dear Crockett Parents and Families,
We have remained vigilant in our quest to reduce the spread of COVID-19 in Goose Creek CISD. From the day we closed our doors to in-person instruction in March 2020 to the date we reopened months later, our main goal has always been to keep the health and safety of our students and staff at the forefront.
Due to the continued downturn in positive COVID cases in our district, we have decided to open lunches to parents and family members at the start of the spring semester. Our transition plan will take effect after the holiday break. Beginning January 5, 2022 through the end of the month, parents/family members will be allowed to have lunch with students during the school day. Each grade level will be assigned one day during the week (see picture below).
Only one visitor per student will be permitted during this transition plan, and siblings are not allowed on campus during lunches at this time. Lunch visitors must be listed as a contact in our TEAMS system. At the end of January, we will revisit our COVID cases throughout the district and consider allowing for additional lunch days.
Before entering the building, we ask parents and visitors to complete a COVID self-assessment. If you are experiencing any symptoms, we kindly ask that you do not attempt to visit the campus on your assigned lunch day.
We appreciate the assistance our community has provided us during this challenging time, and we are looking forward to having our parents and family members back on campus during our lunches.
Visitantes Del Almuerzo

REMINDERS FOR OUR CROCKETT FAMILIES:
STUDENT HEADPHONES
We are asking each student to bring in a pair of headphones or earbuds that could be plugged into an Apple iPad. For health reasons, it is important that students have their own headphones or earbuds so they are not sharing with other students.
Please send the headphones or earbuds in a zippered plastic baggie labeled with your child’s name or you may write your child's name directly on the headphones.ATTENDANCE MATTERS!
Parents, please click on the link below to review tips to help you and your child maintain a good attendance record. Research supports that attendance directly affects academic achievement. We need our students to be healthy and present to maximize their learning. https://bit.ly/3u6iF0U
NEED TO SUBMIT AN EXCUSE FOR YOUR CHILD'S ABSENCE?
Parents may now submit an excuse and attach a doctors note via the school website. Click on the link https://bit.ly/3ojLdSa and complete the Absence Documentation Form. You may also find the form on the David Crockett Elementary website.
GCCISD COVID-19 SAFE RETURN TO SCHOOL PLAN 2021-22
Self-Assessments - Students and staff should conduct daily self-assessments and stay home if ill or exhibiting COVID-19 symptoms. Staff and students may return to school once 24 hours have passed with no fever and symptoms have improved.
Positive COVID Tests & Reporting - Individuals who have close contact with someone testing positive for COVID-19 should report to the school nurse, Ms. Dube, and also consider self-isolating for 14 days from the date of last contact and should also consider wearing a face mask if returning to school/work prior to the quarantine period. GCCISD will continue to communicate positive COVID-19 cases using the COVID Dashboard.
Face Coverings & Desk Shields - Face coverings, masks and desk shields are currently optional as this time. CDC is recommending the use of masks, while indoors, due to the rapid spread of the delta variant.
Visitors/Family Members - Visitors will be allowed at the second semester of school.
Safety Precautions - GCCISD will continue to implement safety protocols to help reduce the spread of COVID-19 which include the following: sanitizer and cleaning supplies in all classrooms, sanitize high touch surfaces through out the day, sanitize/deep clean classrooms if there has been known COVID exposure, sanitizing buses between shifts, and educating students on proper use of and staff monitoring use of water fountains.
