It's Almost Time for the Plant Sale!!!

Big picture

*** Come see us for hanging baskets and more! ***

Spread the word...tell your friends...your family...the lady down the street!

Our staff, clients, and classes have been working hard to be ready for our Spring Plant & Flower Sale. This is one of our main fundraisers for our programs. In addition, it is a great learning opportunity for our students and young adults. They get to experience every step, from planning, to obtaining supplies, to planting and caring for all the plants, and, finally, helping to sell them. We think they have been doing an excellent job! We hope you come see for yourself in May!

Hard at Work in the Greenhouse

Plants aren't all fun and games...they also mean lots of cleaning! We have been working on keeping our greenhouse ship-shape, which requires a lot of elbow grease. Check out these pictures to see how hard we have been working to clean the floors and the water buffalo. (Never heard of a water buffalo that doesn't have four legs and fur? Come see us - we'd love to give you a tour and tell you all about it.) Gardening takes more than planting, weeding, and watering. But, our team does it all with a smile!

Springtime Means Classes!

Crestview and Transition have been a huge asset this spring, as always. The teachers, staff, and students are among the most hard-working, kind, and helpful folks one could ever meet! We only have a few more visits with them before we have to say good bye again until fall. But, while we have them, we will accomplish much together. So far this season they have made Jungle Jam and catnip toys, done some baking, helped get ready for the Plant Sale, worked in the gardens and raised beds, cleaned in our building, and much more!

Time is Running Out to Order a CSA

Tomatoes & Peppers From a Previous CSA Harvest

Thank you to everyone who contacted us to participate in our Produce Subscription Program this year! We are looking forward to seeing you soon. If you have been thinking of signing up, but just hadn't made your final decision, we ask that you contact us by April 30th so that we can be prepared for an awesome season!

Earth Day at Whispering Pines Village

We were excited to be a part of a special Earth Day event this year in Columbiana. Our clients (and the Youth Group of Common Ground Church Community) made magnets to take to the residents. Goodness Grows staff and clients were invited, along with the community, to attend the 2nd annual Earth Day Tree Planting...which we were honored to help with. The VFW also held a ceremony to properly retire the facility's old flag, which is definitely something to see! We look forward to enjoying more time with the staff and residents of Whispering Pines.
