Gregory Gardens Weekly Bulletin

Sunday September 26, 2020

Dear Gators

We are officially half way done with the first trimester! I sure do miss our Gators but I love popping into their zoom classes to say hello and see them learning! We are working hard to make this difficult time just a little bit more fun. Our teachers continue to find fun ways to engage our students... spirit days, cooking lessons, virtual field trips and dance parties! Our Music and Library teachers are a highlight every few weeks.

We recognize how hard this is for everyone and we are grateful for your perseverance. Please do not struggle in silence. Reach out to the front office, myself or neighbors for support. It takes a village to get through this and we all want to help.

Gator Bites Are Back

Our PBIS team is excited to roll out our Distance Learning Gator Bite Reward System! The team has been working hard to create a system that is efficient and mindful of each child's unique needs. With the help of PTA we have revamped our existing program.

Collecting Data during zoom

Each teacher will keep track of bites earned by students. There will be no phisycal rewards during distance learning. We will reward for- digital citizenship, on task behavior in breakout rooms, positive peer interactions and more.

Sharing Bite counts with students and parents

- The 3rd week of every month will be used to share bite totals with students and parents.

- Students CAN use last year’s Gator bites and will need to add that to their count ( honor system will be enforced)

- Tk-2-

o Teachers will tell parents how many bites their student has via seesaw or email.

o Parents will work with students using the menu to complete a form assignment posted in seesaw.

- 3-5-

o Teachers will support students via google classroom or email

o Students will use their totals to purchase items and will record it via google form assignment.

Distribution of Prizes

Students will receive their physical rewards at our monthly material pick up day or rewards will be sent via email.
