Warhawk Weekly - Welcome Back 2020
It's Groovy to Be a Warhawk!
The Hall Way...
Hello Warhawks!
On behalf of the entire Northwood Middle School Staff, I would like to welcome our new and returning students back for the 2020-2021 school year. Although this school year is going to start very differently, we are looking forward to reconnecting with our students. The strong relationships that the Northwood staff creates with our students will still remain at the forefront of our work and lessons with our students. The middle school years are a vital part of a student’s growth, both academically and socially/emotionally, and we are proud that the staff here at Northwood is able to have a direct impact on that growth. That growth will occur through a joint effort between our students, teachers, families, support staff, and administration.
Our hope is that this newsletter will provide information to help students and parents prepare for the 2020-2021 school year. For your convenience you will find information below including information about schedules, our drive thru supply pick up, and other beginning of the year details. Much of this information can also be found on our school website and at www.woodstockschools.org/northwood.
Northwood is celebrating our 50th birthday this year and we look forward to celebrating this special time in our school’s history with our students. Our move to remote learning will not stop us from finding ways to celebrate and enjoy the traditions that make Northwood a special place. Last spring our staff and incoming 7th and 8th graders voted to select the theme for this school year. Given it is the 50th year since Northwood opened in 1970 our theme will be “It’s Groovy to be a Warhawk”. Being a Groovy Warhawk is all about working hard, persevering, celebrating successes and growth, and being kind to yourself and others!
Please contact the school office with any questions and/or concerns you have now or anytime throughout the school year. The Northwood staff and I are anxious and looking forward to working together with our families to help our students BE the GROOVIEST WARHAWKS they can be!

Staying Connected: Parent Portal
You will be able to check your child’s academic progress, as well as attendance, school fees, etc. on the District 200 Parent Portal (formerly called Home Access). The Parent Portal will be active once school starts and login information will be shared with families soon. Please note that your student will also have their own login to check their grades and their teachers will guide them on how to access the system.
