The Meadowbrook PTSA is now recruiting new board members for the 2024-2025 school year. There are several positions open, with varying time commitments, and to match any interest. This is a great way to learn more about the Meadowbrook community, meet other parents and to give back. Please consider volunteering. The open positions include the role of PTSA President, Treasurer, Auditor and more! Volunteers are needed 6th Grade Camp on Monday, February 12th
Volunteers are needed 6th Grade Camp on Monday, February 12th from 8:30am - 10:30am to perform various tasks.
Four volunteers will be given tape and pens to mark all luggage CLEARLY with students first and last name before it is loaded onto the luggage trucks. In addition, a minimum of four volunteers will be needed to load student luggage onto the luggage truck.

Winter Semi-Formal Dance: 2 Days Left to Buy Tickets
ASB will be hosting our Winter Semi-Formal on Friday, February 2nd from 5-7 P.M.. The Winter Semi-Formal will include dancing, a seated dinner, games, snacks, opportunity prize drawings, and fun. The suggested attire is semi-formal. Tickets are only $5 and will be on sale during Student lunch.
Tickets will not be sold at the door. Last day to purchase tickets will be Wednesday January 31.

6th Grade Families: It's time to get organized for camp:
If your student needs to take prescription medication(s) to camp, please refer to the MBMS 6th Grade Camp Newsletter. Parents will need drop off medication with our Health Tech, Mrs. Kumar. We are available to accept forms and answer any questions in the main office from 7:30am to 3:00pm; late start Wednesdays 8:50am to 3:00pm.

8th Grade Families: Transition to High School
8th Grade Families, High School Counselors from Poway High School, Mt. Carmel High School and Rancho Bernardo High School will be visiting our 8th grade students at Meadowbrook on Thursday, February 29th during 1st period. Your student will attend the presentation based on the high school they are designated to attend.

Progress Notices
The 6-week grading period ended Friday, January 12th, 2024. Progress reports will be available for viewing in Synergy Friday, January 19th, 2024. For specific questions related to your student’s progress report grades, please contact your student’s teachers.

PHS ENGINEERING ACADEMY/PATHWAY INFO NIGHT (WED, Feb. 7, 2024, from 7 pm to 8 pm in Room N3107 at Poway High):
This is an opportunity to hear how the program is helping current students and how the Poway High School Engineering Academy/Pathway is making a difference toward their college and career goals. You will learn about what courses to enroll in to start the Academy or Pathway. There will also be a presentation about updates in the Academy and an overview of the program and pathway. There will be a question-and-answer period. Please see flyer attached.

ATTENDANCE HOTLINE: To report an Absence, Tardy or Student Leaving Early…Call our Attendance Hotline at (858) 679-2610. It’s available 24/7. Leave the information needed and attendance will be updated.
STUDENTS LEAVING EARLY?
If your student is leaving early, please call our Attendance Hotline at (858) 679-2610 and Press 2 for Early Release. This will allow our Attendance office to prepare a student pass in advance. When you arrive, enter the main office and provide a photo ID. Only authorized parents or guardians will be allowed to pick up students. If a student is in band or P.E., this process can take up to 15 minutes. Please be patient and plan accordingly.

Meadowbrook Education Foundation Donation Drive
The Meadowbrook Educational Foundation is making a difference on campus. So far this year we have supported the Science Department with a new curriculum, the Arts Department will receive a new kiln for their ceramics program and the Music Department will receive a new bass drum.
We have had over 100 families participate in our donation drive and 100% of your donation goes back to the school. To help us continue to support our school, click here

Item Drop Off Policy
Meadowbrook is dedicated to the instructional time of every student. Please be conscious and plan ahead with your student daily.
No personal items will be delivered to the classroom.
PE Clothes: clean loaner clothes are available.
Food & Water: free breakfast and lunch is provided daily.
Textbooks: your child has access to the classroom set.
Thank you for your cooperation in protecting the instructional time at MBMS.
