Interviewing Mrs. FAstnacht by Jayda Hohn & Brooke Mohling
We interviewed Mrs. Fastnacht. She is the music teacher K-12. Here is what we found out about Mrs. Fastnacht. She was born in California and grew up in Washington state. She has one brother and one sister. She went to college at Central Washington University where she earned a music degree. In college she lived in a dorm, apartment and even a house. She taught ten years before coming to Wessington Springs. We picked Mrs. Fastnacht because we both like music.

Trick Riding By: Ella Kolousek & Jewel Mcgeough
During a trick riding performance, a horse will normally be in a full lope as the rider performs tricks on the horses back in a special saddle. The saddle has extra handles, long and skinny horn, two sinces,a strap around the horses neck and a set of short straps be the horn and by the struip.
Some of the tricks are called the tail drag, the suiside drag, the hippodrome, the shoulder stand and around the neck. There are many more but I don’t know the names of all of them. Trick riding takes balance, bravery and a lot of practice. You need balance so you don’t fall off and so you can let go of the horn. You need bravery because in some of the tricks you are hanging off the horse and in some all that is holding you is your leg and a strap. You need a lot of practice because the tricks are tricky. We think trick riding is an amazing sport and some day we want to trick ride.
These are the sources that we used but some of this is just what we know.

The Dog Days of Summer By: Alexis Roesler
We had a lot of things in the summer. First we had the pool opening and they are making some changes and adding things like a new slide and an umbrella with water shooting out of it and other things that they are changing. They also had a day at the last day of the pool the dogs got to swim with their owners. If you want to donate do it today.
We also had the 4th of July. There was a parade with lots of floats. With people throwing candy at people. They also had a barrel racing contest and it was at the fairgrounds and the western riders 4-H horse club was the people who were working on setting up stuff and running it. Also we had sports going on. We had baseball and softball. U-10 went to a tournament to see if they got to go to the state championship and got pretty far in until one team beat them. But they had a good season. Baseball players got to the tournament and won one and lost one. We had a lot of things going on in the summer.
School Is Cool Yoyo Assembly By Alexis Roceler
Surveys By: Adelyn Burns and Kaebry Dixon
We surveyed kindergartners and 3rd graders our question was would you rather go to Germany or France. France got 16 votes. Germany got 7 votes. So people would rather go to France than Germany.
We asked this because we want to go to Germany and France.
School is Cool Yo-yo Assembly by Alexis Roesler
Around the world yo-yo entertainment owner came to visit Wessington Springs. His name is John Fox. We had an assembly about how school is cool and be nice to everyone in school and how to do yo-yo tricks. When he was teaching us yo-yo tricks he said school is cool and you have to listen to your teachers and learn things every day. To also make new friends to have fun with and to hang out with. One of my favorite tricks that he did was rock the baby. I can do rock the baby as a trick too. Elevator was another trick that he showed us. I really hope that he will show us another trick and hope he will come back next year.
