T-Shirts
Greg Vest is working on a shirt design with the saying Kindness Grows on the front and with the commitments that staff has been voting on the past week on the back. He will be seeking your input on your shirt size for this shirt. There are samples in the lounge. These shirts will be paid for and are the shirts we will wear to Kick Off.
Megan Brown is working on a student and staff shirt for us. This shirt will say, "Be Kind. All the kids at The Ridge are doing it. For students, each grade level will have a different color with the saying on the front. Staff will get a tye dye shirt with the saying on the front. We are going to be taking orders for students starting now until the end of the year. The goal is for every student to have shirt. We will also take orders at the Back to School Bash. The plan is to distribute our shirts at open house and have everyone wear their shirt on the first day of school. We will also wear them on Fridays for our assemblies. You will also be able to use them for field trips and field day. We will take care of the cost for any student who can't afford the shirt. Staff shirts will be paid for. Megan will be seeking your input on your shirt size for this shirt.
Let me know if you have any questions about either shirt!

Climate Survey Results
I am happy to report that we met our participation goal for our 4th quarter climate survey. We needed 85 people to take the survey and 86 people took it! You have earned jeans and spirit wear the whole month of May. We also met all of our goals on the questions.
While question six is not part of our SIP monitoring, the percentage of people who took the survey who strongly agree or agree that we are collaborating around student behavior is at the highest it has ever been.
The link above will take you to the comments. The comments are certified and non certified staff combined. Thanks again to everyone who took the survey. We really appreciate you taking the time to answer the questions or to provide feedback.
Staff Updates
Interviews for second grade will take place next week.
End of Year Checkout Procedures
It is that time of year again for End of Year Check Out procedures. You must complete ALL of the google docs / checklists below as a part of your check out process. I know that everyone has a great deal of responsibilities to complete as the year comes to an end. Thank you for making the checkout process run smoothly with all of your hard work on these items. Like last year, check out times have been modified to allow 4 teachers to check out during the same time slot on Thursday, May 17 only. The office will shut down to accommodate.
Thank you!
Google End of Year Check Out Inventory
Memo of what to bring with you:
SURPLUS:
Beginning on May 17th and after luncheon / dismissal, surplus items can be put into the hallway outside your room and the custodians will then move those marked items to the lobby.
Any furniture item that you no longer want will need to have a yellow surplus tag on it for the custodial staff to move to the lobby. I have YELLOW SURPLUS TAGS by my desk for you to put on the items.
Anything that is marked SURPLUS in the lobby will be up for grabs. If you are claiming an item, remove the YELLOW TAGS, re-mark it with your name and room number. Custodians will then take these remarked items to your classroom / location. It is extremely important that you decide what surplus you will have during this time.
The pick-up for surplus will be done one time in June.
Surplus time lines are firm and cannot be extended.
May 17th – May 30th Items will begin to appear in Lobby
May 31st-- LAST day to add to surplus
June 1th – June 12th Inventory will be completed on all items not claimed from surplus (NOTHING CAN BE ADDED OR REMOVED DURING THIS TIME FRAME)
June 12th -Surplus inventory forms submitted to Vicky Frayne, Admin Building
June 15th -Surplus scheduled to be picked up from Lobby
SUMMER SCRUB ITEMS:
1. Book Shelves must be emptied for light lifting for summer scrub
2. File cabinets, that don’t have wheels, must be emptied for summer scrub
3. Teacher's desks must be cleaned off for moving / summer scrub
Please see Jane if you have any questions about check out or scrub.
