Happy November HGSE Families!
We are looking forward to the next week as we move into our Thanksgiving Holidays. We sure do have a lot to be thankful for and to demonstrate gratitude. This is a very important time of the year to have conversations with our children in what gratitude means and looks like. We appreciate our families that show support and guidance to our students. It shows in their positive behaviors at school.
“Cultivate the habit of being grateful for every good thing that comes to you, and to give thanks continuously. And because all things have contributed to your advancement, you should include all things in your gratitude.”

Happy November from the counselor’s office! I wanted to let everyone know that we are focusing on social emotional learning as a district! We are using a program called Panorama as a resource to meet the needs of students. Your students in grade 3-6th grade took surveys answering questions about their social emotional health in September. Teachers in grades K-2nd answered questions about their students. We use the results of these surveys to teach lessons about the specific needs of our students. In November, we will be focusing on growth mindset and grit. We want to help students develop a positive mindset. We also want to help them with Grit. Grit refers to a student's ability to persist after setbacks. Grit is related to mindset in that if one believes that failures are due to their fixed traits, there is no reason to try again. Conversely, individuals with growth mindset are more likely to be resilient and have more grit. We continue to want our students to be successful!
