From the Desk of Ms. Clark
April 5, 2018
Happy Easter! It is my hope that you had a restful break and blessed Easter with your family and friends. During the month of April, our students focus on the virtue of hope. Each day, we remind our students about this important theological virtue which allows us to desire the Kingdom of Heaven and eternal life as our happiness, placing our trust in Christ's promises.
As you know, we provide opportunities for our children to put their faith into action each day which gives them hope in God's plan for each of them. Our students learn various forms of prayer, and we begin and end our day with our community prayer together. During this time, we remind our students of the importance of inviting God into their lives. There are times in which we find ourselves faced with difficulties and struggles, and it is these situations that we are reminded of the gift of hope and that we are not meant to go through the troubled times alone. If we trust in Him, He will certainly supply us with the graces we need to get through the rough times. We might not always get what we want, but we can count on receiving what we need.
During this Easter season, may you experience a renewal of faith all because of our Savior! “God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that all who believe in him might not perish but might have eternal life.”
Our third and final trimester has begun! Even though we are starting the last stretch of the school year, please continue to help us enforce the importance of good behavior and a solid work ethic with the children. Thank you, in advance, for supporting all that the teachers are doing during the school day to keep our students challenged by checking at home to see that homework and projects are completed.
SKD School Family Directory
We look forward to offering a Family Directory for the 2018-2019 School Year. The purpose of this directory is to provide parents an opportunity to communicate about rides, activities, play dates, and etc.
We feel it is important that there be open communication so that each parent can know what other parents/guardians believe and support. It is also important to know that others value the same things and are wiling to work together for a common purpose.
You will have the option to participate or simply opt out. Information will be coming home soon.
NOTE: This directory is ONLY intended for the private use of SKD and its families and its content may NOT be used for any other purpose, including mass mailings or advertisements of any kind.

Applications for students who will be enrolled in K-12 during the 2018-2019 school year will be available for parents. Applications for Archdiocesan schools, parish schools, and diocesan high schools can be accessed at www.blocs.org or by going directly to https://online.factsmgt.com/aid
Please know that no parent who sincerely desires a Catholic education for their child at Saint Katharine Drexel School will be denied registration because of true financial hardships. Each parish will address this concern on a case by case basis for their parishioners. Any additional financial aid scholarship, in addition to the parishes’ subsidy, will be predetermined, and awarded by the parish, prior to the start of the academic year. Families who believe they are eligible and in need of this aid are asked to contact their local parish office and request a financial aid packet which will include the request for all pertinent financial information.
