DVCEE Newsletter Update #2
Equity. Excellence. Education
About Our Work And Partnerships
The Consortia are a collaborative network of school districts and partner organizations throughout Pennsylvania, Delaware, New York and New Jersey that are driven by a mission to positively transform the lives of each and every one of our students by preparing them for success in post-secondary education and in life- especially our diverse children and youth who have traditionally struggled academically in our systems, or who might likely be the first in their family to attend or graduate from college. The Consortia serve as a valuable resource where the best of what we know of research and informed practice percolate-ideas and strategies that help district leaders effectively address their critical local challenges of securing and sustaining high level student achievement for all and educational equity.
A Note From the Desk of Dr. Bob Jarvis
Welcome Spring: a time for innovation, new growth, and renewed energy! I trust this newsletter finds you all well and gearing up for a richly-deserved spring break.
I'm happy to share with you that the first edition of the DVCEE newsletter received over 1,188 visitors from 144 locations across the globe (and from as far away as Mumbai and Delhi)! I am thrilled to be connecting with so many of you and I hope you'll share this newsletter as a resource for your district's equity leadership teams, parents, teachers and administrators. Perhaps you'll share an episode of Get Schooled: The Penn Ed Equity Podcast at the top of your next faculty meeting to inspire rich new conversation among your colleagues.
In this edition of the DVCEE newsletter we talk all things "innovation" as we are joined by Innovation and Technology specialists, AJ Juliani and Joe Mazza. Check out this great article, "10 Ways Teachers Can Inspire a Generation of Innovators", on AJ Juliani's resource-rich website, get up-to-date on recent episodes of Get Schooled: The Penn Ed Equity Podcast, and "plant a seed" by marking your calendars for the 10th Annual Educators of Color Recruitment Fair on April 16th.
Also, if you're new to our organization and curious about our consortia work we encourage you to visit our website where you can learn more about the mission of our equity work, the history of the development of our programming, and how you can get involved.
Best wishes for an inventive spring season!

Did You Miss Our Recent Webinar? Never Fear!
We've been reading John Medina's book, "Brain Rules" and in keeping with what we're learning about how the brain functions we've decided to embrace some of Medina's brain rules ourselves. We've broken the webinar down into three "bite-sized" (and brain friendly!) portions- all under 10 minutes each- so go ahead and share this webinar, or a portion of it, at the start of your next faculty meeting to inspire fresh conversation with your colleagues.
