What's the scoop at the Luce?
Hello Luce Families,
This past week was an exciting one at the Luce. We celebrated the 100th day of school on February 9th, and students could get back outside to enjoy recess. Stay tuned for a special playground update in a special principal memo this week!
Boots in Bins
This week I want to showcase two of our 5th-Grade leaders who came to me with a great proposal. Sydney Nagle and Alexa Rogan approached me last week because they wanted to do something for the homeless. They wanted to know if they could start a boot drive for the homeless citizens to ensure they had access to proper shoes during the winter months and beyond. I was beyond excited and did not hesitate to support their proposal.
Please consider donating a pair of boots to Boots in Bins if you can. There is a bin right outside of the school's front entrance.
Congratulations on an amazingly thoughtful and intentional Boot Drive, Sydney and Alexa!
Weather Delays and Kidsborough
When there is inclement weather and there is no school Kidsborough will not be in session. Also, if there is a delay (1 or 2 hours) due to inclement weather, Kidsborough start time will also be delayed. For more information or questions, please reach out to Sandy Tanozinni.

Nurse Bonner's Updates
One of my favorite visits during the day is when students come in having lost one of their baby teeth smiling and excited for the tooth fairy to visit them. As we continue to celebrate in February, it is Children's Dental Health Month. Even though baby teeth eventually come out, brushing and good oral care of them is critical for your child's long-term dental health. Happy brushing!

CAPT Treasurer We are looking for a new treasurer for next year. This is a great role for someone who would like to be involved in CAPT and the school, but who doesn't necessarily want to run a major event or volunteer in person. Much of the work can be done at home. Excel skills are a must. Someone who has current or past experience in accounting, finance, or any type of data analysis or reporting would be great. Anyone who is interested or has any questions should send us an email (lucecapt@gmail.com) as soon as possible. It would be great if we could find a person to shadow our current treasurer through the end of the year.

Substitutes Needed (Repost)
Do you have a college-age child coming home for winter break? If so, would they be interested in subbing for the Canton Public Schools while they are here? Subbing is a great way to keep busy, make money and get real-world work experience. In Canton, we have had great success bringing our own, former students back to help support our students and schools during this busy time year. If your child is interested, please have them fill out this sub application packet and email it to Kim Eardley (eardleyk@cantonma.org) to get the process started. If they fill it out before they get home, the process can begin asap!
Students in their first year of college are able to sub at the elementary and preschool levels only.
Students in their second year or beyond can sub at all school levels.
