Happy Spring!!
Spring brings us brighter, longer days and the hope that warmer days are right around the corner! Over the last two weeks we have seen so many happy faces entering the building and gone through many changes. It is wonderful to see all of our Osgood friends enjoying being back together.
Spring also brings the PSO Read A Thon, which is scheduled to begin Monday, March 22nd, please see all the fun activities that are planned for SAILING THE SEVEN SEAS OF READING.
Land Ho!
The 2021 Read-a-Thon, Sailing the Seven Seas of Reading, starts Monday, March 22, and runs through Friday, April 2. This year, our pirate-themed program includes many of our classic Read-a-Thon activities. Teachers have started sending home reading logs to use during the 2-week program, however home tracking is purely optional this year. We encourage you to read with your children, and if possible, to seek out fun, pirate stories.
The activities at Osgood are as follows:
Wednesday, March 24: Dress up day!
Dress as your favorite book character, book subject, or of course, as a pirate.
Friday, March 26: Stop, Drop and Read
Teachers will find three times during the day to call out "drop everything and read!" The school will be sure to adhere to social distancing protocols.
Wednesday, March 31: Favorite Book Day
Students will bring a favorite (or loved) book to school, and will create a copy of the book cover. Book covers will be displayed throughout the school.
Thursday, April 1: Story in a Bottle
A bottle with a started story will pass from class to class. Each class will add a few lines to the story, and on Friday, April 2, staff will read the story aloud in school.
Ahoy!

REMINDERS.....
1.. As a reminder, please review the CPS Travel Order Protocols that Superintendent Sullivan shared with you in an email . When you travel please follow these protocols for everyone's safety.
3. The weather is very unpredictable lately, please dress your child in layers and bring proper outerwear such as coats, hats, and gloves. Students go outside for recess, P.E., snacks and mask breaks throughout day. PLEASE SEND YOUR CHILD TO SCHOOL WITH EXTRA PANTS, THEY CAN BE KEPT IN THEIR BACKPACKS FOR EMERGENCY PURPOSES (RECESS INCIDENTS).
4. The a.m. drop off line is going much smoother due to the combined efforts of staff and parents. Please continue to have your child ready to exit your car safely and quickly.
5. Thank you for continuing to adhere to mask-wearing guidelines at our bus stops. All students and adults are required to wear masks and socially distance while waiting for the bus.
