Principals Message

Hello Alt Ed Community!

The end of the year is fast approaching! So many events going on! I wanted to take this time to recognize and appreciate the dedication and work of all of our amazing teachers during Teacher Appreciation Week THIS WEEK. Thank you to all of the families who came by to show their support of our teachers. We appreciate you!

Before we end our school year we ask that you please fill out the Alternative Schools of Choice Online Survey.

Please select one answer per question that best describes your point of view. These results will be submitted to the CA Department of Education. We appreciate your honest feedback! I am asking that you complete this short survey by Friday May 19th.

IMPORTANT FOR SENIORS!

Dear Students and Families -

In order to maintain access to all the work students created at school, they must download and/or transfer any data they wish to keep to a personal account. This must be done before June 1st, which is the last day of school to ensure they will continue to have access to their files and projects after they leave. On the day after Graduation, or otherwise exiting our District, students will no longer have access to these files, including email, Google Drive, Adobe and Microsoft online projects and files. Please see below for the tools available to them to assist with migrating their data they wish to keep after they leave.

For Google Drive and Gmail : Use Google Takeout Transfer - You will need to have a personal google (not a students.srvusd.net or srvusd.net account) to transfer files to before you begin. To transfer your gmail and Drive files you will want to go to https://takeout.google.com/transfer . This will transfer a copy of your files, originals will still be in your school account.

If you have other Google content (other than what is in Drive and Gmail), to download and import into a personal google account, go to https://takeout.google.com and select the items you wish to download from your school account. This site will not automatically transfer your files so you will need to be prepared to import these other files types into your personal account. You can save the files to a USB or locally on a personal computer for import later, however, it does not have to be done at the same time as the download.

Here are a couple of great Video to help Guide you through the Google Data Transfer/Download process

How to Use Google Takeout in 2022

Transfer or download your Google data with Google Takeout

For Adobe Creative Cloud Projects and Items: With Adobe’s Student Asset Migration site, you can easily transfer your Adobe Creative Cloud content and projects from a school account (students.srvusd.net) to a personal Adobe Account. If you don't already have a free, personal, Adobe account, you will need to create one before you begin the migration process. Using the Migration tool will allow you to have ongoing access to your files and projects you’ve worked so hard creating. These items might include, Adobe Photoshop Images, Illustrator graphics, Spark Pages, Portfolio websites, or Behance Profiles.

To start the migration process for Adobe Creative Cloud go to Graduation.adobe.com. Please note once the migration process is complete it cannot be undone. This moves the files from your school account to your personal, files will no longer be accessible in your school account after Migration.

Here is more information about using Adobe’s Student Asset Migration tool https://helpx.adobe.com/enterprise/using/migrate-student-assets.html

For Microsoft OneDrive Files (Office Online Files, and other files you may be backing up to OneDrive): Microsoft, now partnered with Mover allows you to move/transfer your school OneDrive files to a personal OneDrive/Microsoft account. To start transferring your files, you must first have created a personal Microsoft account. Once you create or if you already have a personal Microsoft Account you can go to https://app.mover.io/login?next=/transfer/new choose “Sign in with MIcrosoft”

Here is some additional information about using the Microsoft Mover program to move your files https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/transfer-files-to-your-personal-onedrive-with-the-mover-transfer-wizard-7dbda93c-71e6-483f-8914-ad445554cd31

**If you need help backing up or exporting your data, please submit an IT help ticket at https://studentithelp.srvusd.net or emailing studentithelp@srvusd.net before the last day of school. Please note time to back up this data will depend on the quantity and size of items in these drives/locations. Depending on the amount, take out and transfer times can take several hours to days in some cases. Those requesting additional support, should submit a ticket as soon as possible to ensure support can be provided before account access is no longer available. Access extensions are not available and once accounts are deleted by the District they cannot be recovered.

Thank you,

SRVUSD Parent and Student Tech Support Team

CHKS

Dear Parent or Guardian of 5th, 7th, 9th, & 11th Grade Students

Your child is being asked to be a part of our school’s California Healthy Kids Survey (CHKS) sponsored by the California Department of Education in class the week of May 15th. This is a very important survey that will help promote better health and wellbeing among our youth, improve the school learning environment and combat problems such as drug abuse and violence.

The survey is anonymous. No names or any other identifying information is connected to the answers except for the name of the school. The survey was developed by WestEd, a public, non-profit educational institution.

If you have any questions about this survey, please reach out to Margrette Wui, Venture AP mwui@srvusd.net

Dear Parent or Guardian of 5th, 7th, 9th, & 11th Grade Students

Your school needs you to complete this online survey to learn more about your opinions about it. This survey is an opportunity to communicate your perceptions about your child’s school. This letter explains the survey and, at the bottom of the page, provides your URL and access instructions. If you have any questions about this survey, contact Margrette Wui, Venture AP at mwui@srvusd.net

The purpose of this survey is to obtain parent perceptions about the school.

Your participation is voluntary. It is also very important. The information you provide will help guide district and school efforts to promote safety, enhance learning supports, and improve student achievement.

  • This is an anonymous survey. It is designed so that no one can be identified from the data. You do not have to respond to any questions that you feel could be used to identify you. Simply skip any such questions.

  • All questions apply to this school only.

  • The results are for the use of your district. The California Department of Education and WestEd will preserve data confidentiality and refer any data requests to the district.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR ACCESSING THE SURVEY

If you have more than one child at this school, you will only need to complete one survey for this school. Please fill out just one survey about the school using your oldest child as a reference.
