Meet Our Guide
Neta Ben Ezra currently serves as the Young Community Shlicha with the Jewish Federation of Columbus. She is a veteran of the Israeli Air Force, and has worked with many youth groups and programs. In addition, she has been active in the organization Seed of Peace.
What is a Shlicha?
Shlichut is a Hebrew word meaning “sending out” or “commissioning people" and refers to the Columbus Jewish Federation's Israel Emissary program. Sponsored by the Jewish Agency for Israel, every two years a young adult from Israel is sent to Columbus to work with the Jewish Federation to operate an outreach program dedicated to promoting increased connections between Americans and Israelis and a greater understanding of Israel.
Where is the food coming from?
Lavash Cafe is one of Columbus' most highly acclaimed restaurants. Located in the Clintonville neighborhood, Lavash is famous for providing quality Middle Eastern foods including: falafel, tabbouleh, kefta, shawarma and hummus.
What is the Capital Jewish Student Association?
The Capital Jewish Student Association is dedicated to creating an accessible environment for students to express their Jewish identities, and to serving as a resource for the wider campus community to learn more about Jewish history, theology, and culture. In addition, the CJSA is committed to inclusiveness, tikkun olam, and supporting the State of Israel.
