All School Read
Our all-school-read of The Wild Robot by Peter Brown is off to a GREAT start! It has been fun to engage with students about the daily reading. So many report gathering with their family at night and reading together, reading with an older sibling or even reading while waiting in the drop-off line in the morning! It is powerful to have an entire school reading the same book!
We know that days and nights can get busy. If you miss a nightly reading at home, students can access the readings by going to the Riverview YouTube page. We have some surprise readers this year! https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL4KE9UVVY1GlCnbd7yW7FHyvT_C4OwYwn

spring into kindergarten!
It was wonderful seeing our future Kindergarten students and Riverview families at our Spring into Kindergarten event Wednesday evening. It was exciting to see so many future Eagles as they toured the school and met Riverview teachers and staff with smiling faces and excitement. I would also like to thank our wonderful 6th grade leadership students for all their help during this event. They did such a great job with guiding our new students and their families and welcoming them to their new home. We are excited to welcome the future class of 2036 to Riverview!
salmon in schools program
The second graders at Riverview have been raising and releasing salmon every year since 1995! It is a great environmental project as the kids get to monitor and observe three stages of the life cycle and do many classroom projects about the life cycle. Latest update: The little fry continue to grow and thrive in our two tanks at Riverview. They are doing well here with no predators to speak of aside from a few Kindergarteners. We will be releasing the fry in about a month at Mosier Creek.
