COVID-19 DATA & POLICY REMINDERS
A few reminders about our policies and protocols related to COVID-19.
93% of our employees and 98% of our students are vaccinated as of today.
As a reminder, our students are required to be vaccinated or obtain a medical or religious exemption. Any student who has a vaccine exemption will test weekly with our Student Health Center. If a student is not fully vaccinated, they will participate in our weekly testing program until they have finished their full vaccination process. July email to students | August email to students
Students without vaccination documentation are being removed from fall courses this weekend.
All employees who are not vaccinated must participate in our weekly testing program. The Testing Center is located in Whiting Hall and will be open Mondays 9:00 AM–12:00 PM and Wednesdays 1:00 PM–4:00 PM. For quick reference, we have added this information to Faculty Central.
All students and employees are required to wear masks indoors. As of today, there have been no exemptions granted for students. The fall community health pledge requires employees and students to abide by our COVID-19 policies.
As prior to the pandemic, when students experience extended absences, we will support and encourage students to reach out to faculty. For questions about attendance policies, please speak with your dean.
DIVERSITY, EQUITY & INCLUSION TRAINING ON CANVAS
The Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Training on Canvas is an excellent resource as you prepare for the start of the semester. Thank you to everyone who has already completed the course.
RESILIENCE CONFERENCE
SAVE THE DATE for Champlain's month-long "Resilience Conference" happening Wednesday afternoons in September, beginning September 8th. The Conference is open to all students, staff, and faculty and will include keynote presentations and workshop choices focused on resilience, well-being, and trauma-informed practices. Some sessions are in-person and streamed, some fully in-person, and some fully virtual. Stay tuned for more information. All events will be posted to The View Events' Health & Wellness section soon. If you have questions or would like to help with the Conference, please contact Laurel Bongiorno.
PORTABLE AMPLIFIERS FOR THE CLASSROOM
Academic Affairs has ordered a limited number of portable amplifiers for faculty to use while teaching. They are available on a first come basis. Please sign up for one if you have concerns about your voice projecting clearly with a mask throughout the day. They will be assigned to faculty for the semester (not shared). Please sign up here if interested.
