Rise & shine with a fun, flowing outdoor Yoga class!
Join Gretchen (CYT, 200 HR) every Sunday morning, through August 25, for an all-levels, donation-based yoga class taught in the flowing vinyasa style, placing emphasis on the deep connection between breath & movement.
Each hour long class will include a brief centering meditation, mantra, & a fun, fluid sequence of postures to leave you feeling grounded & empowered as you face the beginning of a new week.
*A portion of the proceeds raised from the Summer Sunday classes will be donated to Abhayadhama Human Development Center, an orphanage & vocational school for boys, in Bangalore, India. Gretchen spent 2-weeks there in June 2012 teaching daily yoga classes to the boys, working with them during the day on English, & lending a hand with daily chores. She will return with her husband & group of students from Hoban High School in June 2014. Dosha Discovery Tour
In both Yogic philosophy & Ayurvedic science, it is believed that every object and being is considered a combination of the five elements – earth, air, fire, water and ether. When these elements are infused with the life force (prana), it gives rise to three archetypal forms called Doshas. Each individual’s constitution is a unique combination of these forms that is constantly expressed through various physical, emotional and mental characteristics.
In this workshop we will define the Doshas & discuss their qualities, identify your unique Dosha constitution with an Ayurvedic health questionnaire, & discover ways to keep your Dosha in balance with a sequence of postures designed for each particular Dosha & delicious Dosha-specific recipes.
