FALCON FLYER
2020-2021 EDUCATIONAL PLAN
1. Our final school calendar will closely match TCISD for family convenience. Our start day will be on or around August 11th or 12th. More information to come soon!
2. All of our classes will maintain small size (our aim is no more than 10-12 for upper grades and 12-15 for PreK). This will help maintain social distancing standards. Bigger classes will be in bigger rooms to keep desks social distanced. Each class will have sanitation stations, as will the hallways, front entrance, and nurses offices.
3. We have moved all classes in the main building to limit movement around campus. Classes will be self-contained as much as possible, with limited movement unless needed for elective classes (such as library or PE).
4. MENTAL HEALTH: We know that your child's extended time in quarantine and away from school and friends has taken a toll on their mental health. As we begin our new year, an emphasis will be placed on your child's mental well-being so that the transition and start of the year is safe, comfortable, and full of love.
FINALLY, we are working on a special plan so that IF we have to return to remote learning, families whose parents still have to work have a place to bring their child. The plan for this is not finalized and may have to change with new daycare and CSO regulations, but our hope is to team with the ECC to keep some sort of onsite learning available for families who simply cannot remote/distance learn at home. We are in the early stages of this planning, so more details will be available soon. Please pray for this plan and path, as we know it will help many of our families in need IF we are forced to close the school side of the campus again. Our Lady of Fatima, Pray for Us!
ENROLLMENT INCENTIVES END FRIDAY!
Have you completed your registration information for next year's enrollment? If not, TOMORROW, Friday, June 26th, is the last day to do so to be eligible for our Enrollment Incentives!
2020-2021 Enrollment Incentives
- Enrollment fees will be 100% waived if families are registered through FACTS and have applied for Tuition Assistance via FACTS by end of day June 26 (this is the deadline for ROUND 2 of FACTS assistance and to be eligible for the new $250,000 donor assistance money for Cluster 2).
- Our Lady of Fatima is guaranteeing that no family will pay MORE than they did last year, and with the new tuition assistance donor and our in-house Falcon Funds, some families may even pay less.
- Hardship Discounts: Our Lady of Fatima will be working with individual families on a case-by-case basis to offer a COVID-19 hardship, one-time discount, if documentation can be shown with their Falcon Fund application that a hardship occurred because of COVID-19. This includes a furlough or unemployment letter, small business reductions, etc.
- Sibling discounts still apply!
We are asking that ALL families this year attempt to apply for FACTS tuition assistance in order to be eligible for the incentives. Even if you don't think you are eligible, please apply. The new $250,000 donor that is ONLY for our Cluster 2 schools will open doors for eligibility that may not have previously existed! If you need assistance, please email Ms. Sarah at SZarazua@stmarycctc.org.
Renovations, Renovations!
It may be summer, but we are working harder than ever to get our campus clean, renewed, and ready for our scholars--old and new! Here are just a few of the changes coming your way during the 2020-2021 school year:
1.TECHNOLOGY! Thanks to the GENEROUS donations of parishioners Harold Fattig and Bobby De Santos, our computer lab has been upgraded with new hard drives and printers. Additionally, the WHOLE CAMPUS (including the parish) has new WIFI connections for stronger, more secure Internet access.
Each teacher has been given a brand new laptop! Teachers' "old" laptops, as well as the iPads are being upgraded so that each student can have a one-to-one laptop or iPad to check out. We have also written several technology grants to help fund our one-to-one technology incentive. This ensures that if we have to return to any type of remote learning, ALL students will have access to either a laptop or iPad.
2. LIBRARY! Check out the new library waiting for your scholar! Mrs. Schlitzberger and Ms. Oliver (and several volunteers) have transformed our library into a space that is welcoming and ready to be used! All students will have library access and library time this year, and we can't wait to see their faces when they see the new paint job and furniture!
3. Classes and Offices! In addition to the library, several offices and classrooms have received new paint jobs! We are working hard to modernize and beautify our campus, classes, walls, and halls!
4. CURRICULUM! We have updated curriculum at ALL levels! We are doing so much that curriculum needs its own section! See below for all our updated curriculum information!
CURRICULUM UPDATE!
Parents! We want you to know that your concerns and wants about curriculum have been heard, and we have answered! Using data gathered from parent meetings this year, our curriculum team, and teacher requests, the following resources have been finalized as our campus curriculum resources:

ALL of our curriculum meets Archdiocesan standards and ALIGNS with State TEKS! Additionally, our new Renaissance program will allow us to benchmark our students at least three times a year: beginning, middle, and end. Finally, all grades will be vertically aligned with each other using Archdiocesan standards and state TEKS so that transition from grade-to-grade will be seamless and standard across all contents!
We are excited about all the new resources and curriculum programs we have to offer! Each of these programs supports our goal to create strong critical thinkers, leaders, and scholars!
