Looking for indoor options for your children on Friday January 15th?
STM is out of school for an Office of Catholic Schools Professional Development Day and Virginia Baseball Club has the solution for working parents!
Virginia Baseball Club (VBC) offers "holiday camps" on select holidays (they have one scheduled on 1/18) and teacher workdays. VBC is willing to host one on 1/15 for STM if we can provide a minimum of 24 kids (ages 7-12) to participate. It's a day-long clinic [9 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.] of hitting, catching, and skill-building at their indoor Merrifield facility.
More details, including cost, are on their website. Visit www.virginiabaseballclub.com
If you are interested in signing up, send an email to Jill Rogers at firstname.lastname@example.org we can let VBC know that we have at least 24 kids.
The STM-PTO requests each family to volunteer 20 hours per school year in a wide variety of activities. We know some families are not able to do so and we offer an alternate of paying $300 for the school year instead. Each family is responsible for submitting their hours in the electronic Volunteer Service Hour Log Book via the STM webpage, or by clicking the button below.
In order to be a volunteer within the school (pizza lunch, classroom helper, room parent) or for roles such as scout leader, sports coach, field trip chaperone, etc., you must be VIRTUS Trained. All hopeful volunteers must attend a "Protecting God's Children" session, and then fill out the appropriate background check/paperwork - available via the STM School office. Once the office has record of your session attendance, and the paperwork has been received, you are granted the ability to volunteer in the school. Family-based events (such as the International Festival, Breakfast with Santa and Hot Dog Bash) do not require Virtus Trained volunteers, as the children's parents are onsite. Questions? Contact Mimi Neubauer @ email@example.com.
