Miller Newsletter
Sept. 29
Note from Julie
Next week is October. I guess, for me, this is the official start of fall. Hopefully, milder temperatures are on the horizon, but I certainly am not ready for snow. I am hopeful for the changing colors and cool temperatures; the best Colorado has to offer.
I have gotten a few questions about the construction proposal for Fletcher Miller. We continue to work closely with district departments and an architecture firm on the design. We are hopeful the school board will make a final decision before winter break. As soon as we confirm any future board presentations, we will pass that information along.
A few reminders:
Please continue calling the office or school if your child will be absent, arrive late, or leave early. This helps us ensure we know who is in our building throughout the day. If you have any questions, give us a call.
As a reminder, our JTS, preschool and K-12/Lighthouse programs have staggered start times as follows. If you are bringing your student to school, please sign your student in and wait for your child's classroom in the lobby. If you have any questions about who will be accompanying your child to class, please check in with office staff.
Monday, October 2nd is the official attendance count date for Colorado public schools. If your child is going to be absent or is sick on Monday, please call our attendance line at 303-982-7195.
Look for upcoming information on our Family and Community Engagement Night scheduled for October 12th from 4-7 pm.
Our next PTA/SAC meeting will be held virtually on Thursday, October 5th at 1 pm. If you would like to join us, let me know and I will send the google link your way.
Thanks for all you do for your kids, our school and this community.

Elementary
The elementary class read a story about shadows. To enhance learning, the class created their own shadows then used their devices to give clues about themselves. In the hallway they posted the shadows and clues for people to guess who they are. Can you guess who these 3 shadows are?

Sept. 22nd
While students were having a fun day off of school, Miller was hosting a professional development day for Jeffco SSN staff. Miller staff worked together to create some interesting, creative, and informative trainings. There was a terrific turnout and lots of praise for the great information that was shared. Thank you to our staff for sharing some of the amazing activities we do everyday.
Physical Education Class
The Lighthouse class went to Creighton Middle school for Adapted Soccer Day. Schools from all over Jeffco came together and played soccer. This is a fun day to see other peers and get to play in a game against another team.

We are also lucky to have other therapy dogs that visit our building. Our school is so lucky to have the opportunity to work with these amazing dogs!
Important Reminders
Please call the school attendance line (303.982.7195) if your child will be absent, late or leaving early. This allows us to adjust building support and account for all students each day. Relaying your child's absence through transportation, classroom staff or the clinic staff does not allow for timely and consistent communication.
All visitors must enter the building using the front entrance and check in at the front office before visiting classrooms or attending meetings. Thanks for keeping our school community safe!
