DPL presents it's newest teen program with a twist: community through fandom. We want to bring a program for tweens, teens, and young adults to DPL that does what stories do to their readers, viewers, and players: take them to another world and make a hero out of them. Hermione wanted to free the house elves from slavery, Katniss fought the Capitol for inalienable human rights she felt were taken from her and her community, and Ender learned his lesson much too late after his games and had to learn how to have a deeper understanding for people labeled "other." What is the difference between our favorite heroes and ourselves but a will to help others? This program will focus on the community of fandom in all of it's diverse glory and also bringing to life some of the heroes that we love so much to do good in our own communities.
