Panther Notes
Week of April 20-24
Let's Show our Support for Earth Day Activities!!!
Tuesday, April 21 "Lights Out Day" -- we are asking everyone to try their best to minimize the amount of electricity they use throughout the day whether that is turning off all of your overhead lighting or not turning all of them on, as well as minimizing the amount of electronics you have running. Last year, we even turned the lights off in the cafeteria as the kids ate!
Wednesday, April 22 (Earth Day) "Wear Green or Tie-Dye" -- We are asking everyone to wear a green shirt or to embrace their inner-hippie and wear a tie-dye shirt! If you bought one of the adorable "Earth Day" shirts from Shandra that works too!
If you wear your “Earth Day” Shirt on Wednesday, you can wear jeans. This is only with a shirt from this year or a previous year’s Earth day shirt.
Thursday, April 23 "Upcycle Day" -- We will have a table setup in the cafeteria with different "upcycled" items. Upcycling is when you take items that you would typically throw out, and re-purpose them in a new way. If you have anything that you could lend us for the day that, please let me know ASAP. So far we have a flatten bottle that has become a little serving platter & some lovely jewelry made by our very own Sarah Echols (thanks Sarah!). If you have lunch duty this day, please keep an eye on this table & make sure that students are not touching any of the items.
Testing Update
Due to anticipated changes with the NC Final Exams for Social Studies and Science, we will make slight revisions to the testing calendar. We will provide a revised draft for your review this week.
We will share the testing schedule with parents once it is finalized. If parents ask you about the testing window, it is May 19 through June 5. If you have questions about the test schedule, please direct them to your grade level administrator.
The last Case 21 answer sheets were mailed last Tuesday.
