The Richardson Review
September 3, 2021
Hello Richardson Families,
The first week of school is complete. It has been a great week in school! I bet you have some tired kiddos on your hands at night. Thank you so much for your patience as we are all working together to get pick-up and drop-off to go a little more smoothly. With time and practice, it will become much more efficient.
Just a reminder, we are here to work with you and support your child's education, and to keep our students as safe and healthy, as possible. Please be patient when we may need to call to send your child home because they are not feeling well. For your reference, click here for the updated guidelines and procedures we are using this year for health and safety.
One last thing, In addition to looking for members of our school PTA, we are looking for a Richarson parent representative for The District 622 Advisory Committee. The Advisory Committee is composed of parents, teachers, administrators, and community members who participate in a process to review and improve instruction, curriculum, and assessment in District 622. I am joining the committee this year, too. So, if you join, I'll see you there! Committee meetings are an opportunity for stakeholders to give input and get updates about ISD 622 happenings. The group meets once per month from 6-8 pm via Zoom. Contact your me lgruenewald@isd622.org, or Courtney McCormick cmccormick@isd622.org with questions or to join the group.
- Meeting dates this year: September 8, October 13, November 10, December 8, January 12, February 9, March 16, April 13, May 11. Thanks for considering!
I hope you all enjoy this long weekend and we'll see you back here on Tuesday, September 7. As always, do not hesitate to contact us with any questions you might have!
Take care and stay healthy,
Ms. G

Quarantine/Isolation Guidelines
Quarantine/Isolation Guidelines: These guidelines are based on best practices provided by the Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) and the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and are valid during the period in which ISD 622 has all students, staff, and visitors participating in universal masking. COVID-19 is an evolving situation and, as such, these guidelines are subject to change. Vaccinated STUDENTS WILL NOT need to quarantine if they are exposed to a positive COVID-19 case at school or as a household contact UNLESS they become symptomatic. WILL need to isolate if they become symptomatic or test positive for COVID-19. If a negative test is received after becoming symptomatic, students can return to school. Students who become symptomatic while at school need to be sent to the health office immediately. Unvaccinated STUDENTS WILL NOT need to quarantine if they are exposed to a positive COVID-19 case at school. WILL need to quarantine if they are exposed to a household contact who is symptomatic or tests positive for COVID-19. If a symptomatic household contact receives a negative test result they can return to school. If a household contact tests positive, a shortened quarantine period cannot be requested until they have been able to either isolate away from the positive individual or the positive individual has completed their 10 day isolation period. WILL need to isolate if they become symptomatic or test positive for COVID-19. If a negative test is received after becoming symptomatic, students can return to school. Students who become symptomatic while at school need to be sent to the health office immediately.
*All shortened quarantine requests require approval from the Contact Tracing Nurse
