Welcome to the Bolvarian Republic of Venezuela! Here you will find a city of many unique attributes. Lets take a tour! Here in Venezuela, the curreency is called "venezuelean bolivar." One bolivar is equal to 16 cents in the United States. The population is 28, 868, 486 people. In order to maintain this population of so many, there is a federal republic government with the current ruler (2013-present) Nicolas Maduro.

What is their culture and entertainment like?
Gaita is an important style of music in Venezuela. Their national dance is called joropo, but the most popular dance is the salsa. They also have many carnivals, although El Calso is the most important of them all. The carnival is four days long and many tourists come to see it. One of their religious holidays is called Maundy Thursday, it is a religious celebreation of the last supper.

The lengua de res is a cow tounge served in vinigrette.

An empanada is a deep fried, corn stuffed, flour pattie with shark and or clams with other sea food inside.
What does the flag stand for?
The yellow in the flag represents the riches of the land. The blue symbolizes courage and independence of the people in Venezuela. The red is for the blood that was shed when fighting for their independence. The stars on the flag stand for the eight provinces that united in the war of independence.
