Plympton Family Update
October 13, 2023
From the Interim Principal
Hello Plympton Families,
Today MCAS scores were sent home in student backpacks. Please check your student's backpacks for this important information.
This week our 3rd grade students were treated to a live interview with La Puerta Abierta, (the traveling librarian). This aligns nicely with the first unit in the ELA curriculum - studying learning challenges around the world!
We had a great turn-out at Back to School Night last week. We would love your feedback! Please click here to complete a short survey.
We are very excited about the PTO Boo Bash this evening! We hope to see many Plympton Penguins!
Go Penguins!
Sincerely,
Adrienne Norris
Interim Principal
A Note From the Nurse
All our students at Plympton have had their eyes checked by a team of School Nurses. You will only hear from me if your student had difficulty with this screening.
Students in Gr K through Gr 3 had their hearing tested and students in Gr 5 had the postural screening done.
Now is the perfect time to have your student immunized for the flu. See your Healthcare Provider or check for free Flu Clinics in the community.
Covid is still here. Let me know if you would like some free home test kits. Always test when you have symptoms and are not sure what might be causing them.
Remember, students should be fever free, vomit free, diarrhea free for 24 hours before returning to school.
Feel free to reach out to me, Sharon Duquette at sharonduquette@walthampublicschools.org if you have any questions or concerns.
Be well.
Read & Relax After School at the Plympton School Library
Use this form to sign up to bring your Plympton student(s) to the library after school to read and relax together. The timing will be from pick up until 3:45pm. We will need to limit sign up to no more than 15 student/adult pairs/groups. You will be notified with a confirmation email from Ms. Halley the week before the date you signed up for. Leader In Me October Donations
Leader In Me is our new social-emotional model being implemented at Plympton this year!
Leader in Me aims to create a high-trust school culture and lays the foundation for sustained academic achievement. Each month we would love to be able to enhance our school culture by holding an event for students as well as a special treat for teachers and staff!
For the month of October we will be hosting a fall themed door decorating competition with the winning class receiving a pizza celebration! We will also be rolling out a coffee cart for teachers and staff!
If you would like to help out this month please click here! Your support and donations are much appreciated!
Go Penguins!
PS. Please drop off any generous donations to Plympton on or before October 16th :)
