A Time to Be Thankful for What We Have
Things are rarely, if ever, perfect, but when we look for the good in others, in the world, and all around us, it is always to be found. I would like to take this opportunity to say Thank You to our school community - our families, our staff, our students, and all who work together to make the school community a little bit better each day.
I am particularly thankful that, in spite of significant challenges that many in our community are facing, we continue to support each other and do our best. We will never be perfect, but we will always strive to do better and be better. A perfect example is the enormous gains we saw this past week in our students' use of Lexia, particularly in the upper grades where improvement was needed. Way to go 4th and 5th graders for taking on a challenge! Let's keep inching ahead and we will get there.
Let's keep lines of communication open between us, and let's continue to make small improvements each day so that our students can continue to learn and grow. This year's Thanksgiving is surely going to be different than any we've experienced, but I feel thankful this year to be part of the Whittier school community.
Next week, we will have school on Monday and Tuesday. We will see you again on Monday, November 30th after the Thanksgiving break.
With sincere appreciation,
Be well,
Mr. OhEithir, Principal
