News from Lions Park School
Letter from the Principal
Dear Lions Park Families,
Now that the year is underway, students will likely have more homework than they may have had during the first weeks of school. If homework time is a struggle at your house, this article, may provide some helpful suggestions. We do not want homework to be the major source of stress for your family If you have tried some things at home to improve the situation and things are not going well, reach out to your child’s teacher for help. He or she is unable to fix a problem they aren’t aware that your child is having.
We appreciate your ongoing cooperation in making our drop off and pick up function as smoothly as possible, given our lack of a designated drop off zone. We have had reports of people parking in handicapped spots and parking in front of driveways or our neighbors. While we completely understand the challenges at this time of the day, we want to a be good neighbors and have accessible parking available for those who need it. We appreciate your attention to parking in legal parking areas.
Next week our grade level teams will meet to review the data we have about your children's literacy and math skills. Teams will use the data to discuss ways instruction can be refined to support student growth in literacy and math. Teams also discuss students who would benefit from support from our LSS (Literacy Support Specialist) and MSS (Math Support Specialist) teachers or from our enrichment teacher in third-fifth grades. I am constantly impressed by the commitment Lions Park teachers have to ensuring growth for all students.
