Cards for Hope-Wings of Hope Hospice
Let's share the joy of the holidays by making cards for Wings of Hope Hospice! Instead of our Cookie Capers this year, we are making cards to brighten the holidays for those who are currently in hospice care. Please have the cards turned into the office by December 10th.
TOYS FOR TOTS
This year Dix Street will be collecting toys for the Toys for Tots program. If you are willing, please send a new, unwrapped toy to Dix Street with your child. We will take them to a local drop-off location on Dec. 16th.

Book Packs To Go
Would you like a library staff member to pick out books for you or your child?
Click on THIS LINK to get Book Packs to Go from the Otsego District Public Library. You can list your interests or the genres you prefer and a staff member will choose up to 10 books that they feel you will enjoy. Then the library will put materials on hold for you. When you receive an email, you can pick up your Book Pack To Go at our drive-through curbside window.
Bittersweet & Timber Ridge Ski Clubs
Attention skiers and snowboarders: If your family wants to take advantage of skiing/snowboarding at either Bittersweet or Timber Ridge Ski Area for a discount this winter, stop by the office and pick up a ski club application. Applications and money are due by December 18, if you want your pass before Christmas Break. Both ski areas will be open soon! Once the temperature drops, they have the ability to make snow!
RECESS DRESS CODE REVIEW
There have been some issues with the dress requirements for recess. As we begin to ride the temperature roller coaster (mostly down!) that is the norm here in West Michigan, it is a good time to review the recess dress code.
All students must wear snow pants, coat, and boots to go off the paved areas of the playground when there is snow on the ground or if it is muddy. Also, as the weather and temperature fluctuate our policy for outdoor gear is as follows:
50’s-Jackets are suggested, but optional
40’s-Jackets, coat, sweatshirt, or sweater required
30’s-Coat, hat, gloves, boots, & snow pants required.
We use the wind chill temperature to determine the dress requirements. The office will inform
the students when the temperature is questionable.
EMERGENCY CONTACT INFORMATION
It is extremely important to have up-to-date contact information available for each student. When emergencies arise, we need to be able to contact parents/guardians. This is also the contact information that is used for school closures and district updates.
Please log in to the Infinite Campus Parent Portal to check that your contact information is current and to make any necessary changes. If you need assistance or login information for the Parent Portal, please contact the Dix Street OfficeThank You!
