PTA Sister School Program
Alamo's Sister School is Dover Elementary School.
Principal Piezas at Dover and Principal Salazar are at the early stages of planning an activity for the students to do together, an opportunity to connect.
The Sister School philanthropic program benefits the students of the San Ramon Valley Unified School District (SRVUSD) by fostering civic responsibility, enhancing community engagement, promoting volunteerism, and by teaching the joy of helping others. This goal is accomplished by partnering each school in the SRVUSD with a partner school in a neighboring disadvantaged area of the East Bay. Through collaborative determination of need, schools in the SRVUSD conduct a minimum of two drives and/or fundraisers per year for items that benefit the children of their sister schools.
The Sister School Program is a district-wide, PTA-sponsored program that began in 1994 as "The Cross County Partner School Program" (also known as "Cross County Books/Clothes"). A majority of SRVUSD schools participate in the Program.
