Welcome Back!

It is so great to be back together! We are excited to have students back at school! Things will look a little different with our added safety precautions, but we know that students and families will settle into our new routines over the first few weeks of school. Our first day with all students in attendance will be on Monday, September 14th.

Our school organization remains tentative until approved by the Board Staffing Committee. Should a reorganization of classes be reqruied, it will occur on Thursday September 24th.

September 25th is PA day.

When students arrive at school in the morning, they will be asked to line up with their cohort. For the safety of all students, parents should not be on the school yard.

Intermediate students are strongly encouraged to remain at school at lunchtime for student safety. By staying on school property, we can ensure they remain with their class cohort.

Our Hot Lunch and Milk programs will not be operating at this time.

Student Pick Up and Drop Off Areas

Daily Pick Up and Drop Offs:

Mrs. Pouliot & Mrs. Anderson's Kindergarten Students: Drop your child off to an adult at the Kindergarten Gate 2. Pick up your child from the Primary Gate (a staff member will bring your child to you).

Mrs. Cameron & Mrs. Hewitt's Kindergarten Students: Drop your child to the Entry Gate 1 and your child will then go to their line. Pick up your child at Exit Door 1. A staff member will release your child to you.

Primaries (Grades 1-3) Drop your child off and pick your child up at the Primary Gate.

Ms. McFarlane's Class: Say goodbye to your child in the grassy area beside the big tree at the front of the school (near the access Road) and ensure they join Ms. McFarlane's class line. At the end of the day, meet your child in the grassy area beside the big tree.

LDSB School Reopening: What to expect when students return to school

Visiting the School

At this time, visitors, including parents, will not be permitted in the school or on the yard, unless in an emergency situation. If you need to pick your child up, you will need to ring the buzzer and a member of the office staff will send your child out to you.

Masks

All students in K-8 are expected to wear masks at school and the bus. We know this may present a challenge for our youngest learners and will work with them to help them learn to tolerate wearing a mask, and to safely take their masks on and off. All families should provide their own masks for students. You can learn more about proper mask etiquette from KFL& A Public Health. Masks are mandatory for students in Grades 4-8 and are strongly encouraged for students in Kindergarten - Grade 3.

Remote Learning

If you opted for remote learning, a Virtual School will soon be launched. In the meantime, students learning remotely will be provided some interim work by their homeroom teachers, until the Virtual School gets up and running. If you need technology for remote learning, please contact Mrs. West at the school.

Families have the ability to opt in or out of remote or in person learning until September 14th. Please contact the school should you wish to change your selection.
