We Love Our Bus Drivers!

February 10 - 14 was Bus Driver Appreciation Week. To show our appreciation for our bus drivers, classes made cards, teachers provided snacks and the preschool class created a bulletin board in the lobby with information about our drivers.

Please thank you child's bus driver for their dedication to transporting our students safely to and from school, whether there's rain, snow or sunshine. Our bus drivers are up early and back late. They know and care about each student on their bus. We are truly grateful for our drivers!

Jump Rope for Heart fundraiser for AHA

Collection envelopes have been sent home for our Jump Rope for Heart campaign, a fundraiser for the American Heart Association.

  • Students can collect donations in person and online.
  • Instructions for creating the online donation page have been sent home, as well.
  • The jump rope activities will take place the last week in February.
  • Hero Duck stickers may be purchased for display in lobby. The ducks have space for students to honor a family member or friend who has been impacted by heart disease.

All donations are due by Feb. 28. For more information, contact Mrs. Prater (lora.prater@yadkin.k12.nc.us).

Congratulations to America D, our school Spelling Bee winner!

We Want Your Used Books!

As a part of our initiative to make more leveled books available to students, we are conducting a book drive throughout February. Please donate your gently-used books. Novels and non-fiction for children, young adults and adults will be accepted. The books will be sorted...some to classroom libraries and others will be taken to used book stores. The credit and/or money received for the books will be used to purchase more leveled texts. All book donations can be turning in to the designated box in the library.
