Brainstorming Strategy: LOOPING
- Along the top edge of the first sticky note, write TIM. Then write the title of your challenge, event, or PD that your team is focusing on today.
- On the first sticky note, write for one minute without stopping. Write about connections between the TIM and your challenge or event—anything you want, in any direction you want to go. There are no right or wrong thoughts.
- Read over what you wrote. Circle the "center of gravity," a compelling word or phrase.
- Along the top edge of the second sticky note, write the "center of gravity" you just circled. This is your new focus.
- Now, write about your new focus for one minute without stopping. However, you are still writing in the context of your initial challenge and the TIM.
- Read over what you wrote on the second sticky note. Circle the "center of gravity," a compelling word or phrase.
- Along the top edge of the third second sticky note, write the "center of gravity" you just circled. This is your new focus.
- Now, write for one minute without stopping about your new focus. However, you are still writing in the context of your initial challenge and the TIM.
- Highlight three key ideas you surfaced throughout the activity—all stickies.
- Share out with your group.
