Learning. Growing. Collaborating & Achieving @KrumHighSchool
May 7, 2018
Hello KHS families. As you will see in the calendar, we have EOC and AP testing occurring this week. In addition, we have the Spring Sports Banquet on Monday night, as well as the sexual health parent meeting. All ninth grade families were mailed a letter with information about the sexual health lessons our school nurse, Dixie Knight, R.N. will provide on Thursday and Friday to our 9th graders.
Senior parents, this week we gave your student handouts with important dates, as well as a graduation contract in their English class. We have attached this document below. In addition, these documents have been added to the Class of 2018 website. We realize this is a special time for your graduate and you are cherishing each moment spent with him or her. We have included a list of important senior dates so that you may coordinate your schedule. Graduation is Friday, May 25, 2018 at 2:00 pm at Denton Bible Church. We are proud to announce that the Krum ISD Technology Department is going to live stream the graduation. If you have family members that cannot physically be here, they can watch it on our website.
Next week is teacher appreciation week. We are so thankful for these men and women who have chosen to answer the calling of teaching. They often do not see the harvest of the seeds they are planting each day. Yet, they continue to cultivate and pour love into our children because of a strong desire to make the world better one child at a time. They didn't choose education because it is easy; but because the benefits of educating our future far outweigh any challenges.
As we celebrate all faculty and staff, we are pleased to announce our 2018 Teacher of the Year, Mrs. Charleen Sprabary. Mrs. Sprabary was chosen to receive this years' award as a result of the voting of students and staff. Mrs. Sprabary teaches AP Biology, Anatomy & Physiology, and Biology. In addition, Mrs. Sprabary serves as the Science Department Chair and National Honor Society Sponsor.
We look forward seeing you at one of the many events this week. We appreciate your support.

Hello KHS Bobcats!
If you requested a Pre AP or AP English course for the 2018-19 school year, there is a summer assignment for these courses. Attached is a copy of each assignment. All summer assignments will be posted online on the KHS website under "Summer Assignments".
1. Failure to complete the summer assignment does not mean remove from the course.
2. Students may change their requested courses for any reason, as long as the request still allows the student to meet graduation requirements until Thursday, May 24th.
Following the last day of school, students will not be allowed a course request change unless it meets the reasons outlined in the Academic Planning Guide.
Please contact your counselor if you have any questions.

Enrolled in a NCTC Dual Credit Class for the fall 2018-19 school year?
Don't forget to either:
- Pay in full
- Set up payment plan (if available)
- Accept your Financial Aid package
If you are receiving Financial Aid, once you accept your package and your anticipated aid has been applied to your student account, review your balance on your MyNCTC portal and make payment arrangements for any remaining balance, if applicable.
NCTC reserves the right to periodically "cancel registrations" for students who have not made payment in order to open up seats to other students.
In order to receive 100% refund for any payment you have made or to not be financially responsible for the charges you have incurred by registering, you will need to drop your classes before the first day of the semester. Once the semester begins, dropped classes will follow the state approved refund schedule.
Thank you for taking care of your payment in a timely manner. Payment must be made by before July 11th to ensure your student is not dropped from their course(s).
Don’t forget your textbooks.
